SHANK Popular Songs Ranking [2026]

A three-piece rock band formed in Nagasaki in 2004.

The origin of the band’s name comes from when they initially played ska-punk and called themselves “SKANK” (SKA + PUNK), but drummer Yuki Ikemoto misread it as “SHANK,” and the name stuck.

Here’s a ranking of some of their most emotional and popular songs!

Bursting with a sense of speed, this track—driven by brisk guitar riffs and a tight rhythm section—races through your whole body.

It was included on the band’s third full-length album, “Baitfish Attitude,” released in December 2013.

Set to the direct, no-frills sound unique to a three-piece lineup, the lyrics convey a heartfelt wish: to hold on to that spark of a beginning, even as our dreams and ideals get worn down by everyday life.

Forged in live houses, the aggressive yet catchy melodies brim with the power to spark sing-alongs.

It’s the kind of song that will push you forward when you’re ready to take that next step, or help you reclaim your true self.

The title track placed at the end of the album STEADY is a characteristically SHANK-style emotional anthem that portrays the resolve to keep moving forward while confronting past memories and inner contradictions.

Its all-English lyrics really resonate.

Included on their first full-length album in about five years, released in January 2022, it drew attention alongside “High Tide” and “Lazy Daisy,” which were featured as songs in web commercials for the fishing line brand VARIVAS.

It’s a must-listen not only for the breakneck energy of melodic hardcore but also for those who’ll connect with its introspective lyrics.

SHANK — Stop the Crap [I tried playing it] drum cover
Stop the crapSHANK

It’s an introduction—kind of like the jingle at the start of a live show, I think.

I wonder if fans will cover it.

Punk rock is a genre where the drummer really stands out, especially in live performances.

I think you’ll enjoy it.

It’s a really short song, but it still carries their signature vibe—a comfortable punk sound.

I’m sure they have plenty of followers.

They’re a three-piece male band with a wide range, and they have various albums, so I’m curious how much of that their fans actually know.

From an intro so cool it makes you think you could listen to just that forever, to a song structure that screams “melodic hardcore,” this is SHANK at their finest.

Packed with tight hits and simply put—it’s awesome.

Definitely give it a listen!

TAKE ME BACKSHANK48rank/position

I think it’s a track where the brisk, offbeat guitar backing pairs brilliantly with the lead guitar’s powerful impact.

It’s rare to find a song that leaves such a strong impression in just two minutes.

Definitely one you should listen to.

This song races by and is over in just about a minute.

It’s extremely aggressive and edgy, with a cool, melodic hardcore-style burst of speed.

I can picture kids at a live show forming a circle and running counterclockwise.
