Chilly spring. Pre. Spring Grand Liberation FestivalSun, 5/10 – Kanagawa Prefecture

This is a self-produced festival hosted by the girls’ loud rock band Hanabie. It began as a live show celebrating the members’ high school graduation in 2018 and has grown in scale each year, becoming a regular annual event. Set at KT Zepp Yokohama, the day will be packed with heat and energy as domestic acts like JasonAndrew and KALASiM join Australia’s STAND ATLANTIC to “liberate” the audience with thunderous, loud sound. Scheduled for May 2026.

Kamakura Petit Rock FestivalSun, 5/10 – Kanagawa Prefecture

The Kamakura Petit Rock Festival is an outdoor live music event without electricity that has been running since 2014. Held at Yuigahama Seaside Park, attendees can enjoy up-close, unplugged performances while feeling the sea breeze. Aiming to provide a space to experience music itself up close—rather than music as branded consumption—diverse artists, both famous and unknown, perform simultaneously across multiple sites. Admission is free, making it easy for everyone from children and local residents to tourists to drop by. Scheduled for May 2026.

Born from the simple wish, “We want a local festival,” this open-air music festival will celebrate its 15th year in 2026. Held at Ohira Kakashi no Sato, a satoyama area in Ohira, Tochigi City, it has been independently run without sponsors, sustained by a grassroots, DIY spirit. With the concept “Living beautifully with nature,” a diverse array of bands and DJs connect people and the natural world, their sounds gently resonating across the tranquil rural landscape. Street live in Takasaki, everywhere you lookSun, 5/10 – Gunma Prefecture

This is a citizen-participation event symbolizing “Takasaki, the City of Music,” co-hosted by the City of Takasaki and the Takasaki Otomachi Project. Around 20 genre-specific live spots will be set up around Takasaki Station, and more than 150 musical acts from within and outside the prefecture will perform simultaneously—one of the largest scales in Northern Kanto. A wide array of music, including pop, rock, jazz, folklore, traditional Japanese music, and a cappella, will fill the streets, with the event scheduled for May 2026.

Mie Blues FestivalSun, 5/10, Mie Prefecture

The Mie Blues Festival is a free-admission music event held at Oto no Mori Campground in Yokkaichi City. With the slogan “LOVE & PEACE,” it’s presented as a heartwarming, happy music festival.
