This time, I’d like to introduce some “penalty games” that really liven things up in elementary school!
In elementary school, kids play all sorts of games during recess and other free time.
But if you keep playing the same kinds of games with the friends you see every day, there are probably days when things don’t get very exciting, right?
That’s when you should try adding a “penalty game”!
Simply say, “If you lose, you do a penalty,” and then decide the actual penalty by drawing lots after the winner is determined—the game is sure to be more exciting than ever.

[Simple yet fun] Punishments that excite elementary school kids (21–30)
flick to the forehead
Everyone has probably given or gotten a forehead flick at least once! When someone skilled does it, it can sting and throb for a long time.
To make a forehead flick hurt more: make sure it hits the space between the eyebrows vertically and at a right angle; increase the distance between the flicking finger and the surface being flicked; put a lot of strength into the finger that’s holding the flicking finger back before release; and finally, at the very moment you do it, picture the person or thing you hate most in the world.
kissy face
There probably aren’t many people who are good at this.
Show off your “kissing face” as a penalty game—guaranteed to make anyone blush! Go all in with a serious look, or play it for laughs with an over-the-top, cartoony smooch face.
You might just be able to get through it if it’s only among the same sex, but the moment there’s someone of the opposite sex around, the embarrassment hits the max…
It’s a face you’d only show someone you like, which is exactly why it feels like such a punishment!
dizzy bat
“Guruguru Bat” is a game where you spin around a bat a set number of times.
If you don’t have a bat, you can substitute something like a broom.
Instead of just spinning, asking players to attempt something while dizzy—like a layup—guarantees big laughs when they can’t walk straight.
Just be sure to keep the challenges safe enough to avoid injury.
Original mixed juice
A classic penalty game: something gross.
When doing a penalty game, how can you easily make something nasty at school? The simplest way is to just mix together drinks you can buy from a vending machine or a convenience store! Even a single vending machine has lots of options, from coffee to carbonated drinks to fruit juices.
There’s no doubt it’ll taste awful (lol).
flick on the forehead
A two-finger snap on the arm—“shippe”—can really sting, even when done by someone with a weak grip.
To make that snap even more painful, first aim for a visible vein on the arm.
Next, instead of having the palm face up or down, have the person turn their arm so the thumb points upward, and aim for the side of the arm.
Finally, the person delivering the snap should completely relax their hand.
This will make the snap even more powerful.
Eat sour and spicy candy
A classic among TV punishment games! Instead of the usual mildly spicy or sour foods people eat, have them eat something extremely spicy or extremely sour as the penalty.
That said, for children like elementary schoolers, avoid anything too extreme.
We recommend using common candies like the ones you often find at snack shops.
You could make it like Russian roulette, where only one of them is spicy or sour—adding some suspense and making it more fun!
Wasabi cream puff
Sweet treats like cream puffs and donuts are delicious, but they’re also often used for punishment games.
One common game is to put something spicy like wasabi or mustard inside and make someone eat it.
You really want to enjoy the sweets, but the sharp sting that shoots up your nose is truly painful.
If more than one person is chosen for the punishment, a thrilling twist where only one treat contains wasabi sounds fun too!
