Accessory box made from an empty box

Summer Vacation Craft Series ♡ Part 4: Making an Accessory Box from Empty Boxes [Koujoucho] DIY
Accessory box made from an empty box

Some children who love fashion may have lots of charms for rings or clothes, right? Since they can easily get lost, it’s handy to have a box that can store them all together.

Here’s an accessory box that’s practical too.

You can make it with an empty box you already have at home.

Add thickness by attaching pieces cut from a quilted surface to the lid and the sides of the box.

The soft, cushioned thickness gives it a luxurious feel, turning it into a proper jewelry box.

If you roll up some felt fabric and place it inside the box, you can store rings neatly.

The finished product won’t look like it was made from an empty box, so give it a try for inspiration!

galaxy jar

How to Make a Galaxy Jar [Parent-Child Craft]: How to Make a “Bottled Universe.”
galaxy jar

It’s a craft that compresses outer space into a tight little bottle—full of romance and wonder! It’s perfect for time at home, and not only kids but their caregivers will likely find themselves totally absorbed.

Since children will be handling it, use a plastic bottle instead of a glass one for safety.

Pack as much craft cotton as you can into the bottle, then pour in water.

Next, load the tip of a brush with your favorite watercolor paint and, as if poking into the gaps in the cotton, move the brush side to side to add color.

If you mix too many colors it can get muddy, so we recommend blending about two colors.

Adding glitter or star-shaped sequins makes it look even more magical!

Shaka-shaka accessories

Super easy! I tried making shaker accessories with items from the 100 yen shop.
Shaka-shaka accessories

This is a craft project where you upcycle 3D flake tags sold at 100-yen shops to make accessories.

The final part where you attach the extender is delicate and a bit difficult, but if a parent or guardian helps with just that part, I think even lower-grade elementary school children can enjoy this craft.

There are lots of cute items and parts at 100-yen shops, so the search itself is really fun.

Since you’ll use a craft knife to make the slits for inserting parts, younger children should work together with a parent or guardian.

katana

[Cardboard Craft] How to Make a Cool Sword Easily! [cardboard sword craft]
katana

It’s pretty cool to have your own personal weapon like a katana or sword, right? And if that weapon is something you made yourself, you’ll probably treat it even more carefully.

This is a craft project where you make your own personal sword.

All you need is cardboard, and optionally some origami or construction paper to decorate it stylishly.

The steps are simple: cut the cardboard into several parts and assemble them.

As long as you’re careful with the tools, it’s an easy craft that even lower-grade elementary school students can do.

straw pan pipe

[Easy] Amazing independent research using straws! / Denjiro Yonemura [Official] / science experiments
straw pan pipe

This is a craft project recommended for upper elementary grades and above: making a handmade panpipe using straws.

You’ll need straws, a ruler to hold them, and items like clips and a lighter.

Heating the straws with a lighter can be dangerous, so be sure to do it with an adult.

The construction is simple, but tuning the pitches is a bit tricky, so measure the lengths carefully.

A climbing ladybug!

Easy magnet craft! A climbing ladybug! Recycle plastic wrap and toilet paper cores! #crafts #handmadeToys #summerVacationCrafts #recycledCrafts
A climbing ladybug!

Here’s how to make a ladybug toy you can play with using magnets.

First, decorate a half-sphere of Styrofoam to look like a ladybug using pens or any materials you like.

Attach a magnet to the back of the ladybug with double-sided tape.

Next, flatten a toilet paper tube and cut it in half.

Use double-sided tape to fix the cut piece around a wooden stick to form a ring, then attach a magnet so it attracts the ladybug’s magnet.

Make a “tree” using a plastic wrap (cling film) tube, and insert the stick inside the tube.

When you move the stick up and down, the ladybug will move too! It’s also fun to make other bugs or your favorite characters instead of a ladybug, so give it a try!
