If you’re looking for a quick musical gag, how about using a recorder? You probably associate the recorder with playing children’s songs, but you can play popular tunes on it as well.

There are plenty of performance videos out there, so you can just imitate them and practice.

Start by finding a song you like.

It’s already funny the moment you pull out a recorder that reminds people of grade school, and the crowd will get hyped when you launch into a popular song from there.

Toilet Paper Challenge

@aoharu_school_

Can everyone do this without tearing it? Can you do this without ripping the toilet paper?Toilet paperTranslation#AfterSchoolAoharuAcademy#tiktokchallenge#toiletpaperchallenge#fyp

♬ Original Song – After-School Aoharu Academy – After-School Aoharu Academy

This is a party trick where you place a glass of water on the end of a strip of toilet paper laid out on a table, then roll the toilet paper back up without tearing it.

Because the glass is heavy, if you reel it in too quickly or jostle it and spill the water, the toilet paper will tear right away.

When you try this trick, make it a head-to-head competition and see who can roll the toilet paper back in the fastest without tearing it!

Dump the spoon straight into the cup.

This is a party trick using a tray, cups, and spoons sold at 100-yen shops.

First, fix the cups onto the tray and line up one spoon in front of each cup.

Then, when you hold the tray and flick your wrist, each of the four spoons flies into a cup—one spoon per cup.

It may seem silly, but if you pull it off, you’re sure to get a round of applause! Since you can do it with easily gathered items, it might be worth practicing for when the moment calls for it.

A moving snake made from a straw wrapper

[Popular with kids] Make a moving snake using a straw wrapper
A moving snake made from a straw wrapper

All you need is a straw wrapper! There are no techniques or tricks involved.

Push the wrapper toward one end and take out the straw, then drip water onto the accordion-like wrapper…

and it starts wriggling! It might be more well-known than you’d expect, but it’s strangely fascinating and fun!

plastic bottle candle snuffer

♫ Original song – Kyon (Kyonkuma) – Kyon (Kyonkuma)

This is a simple quick gag using a plastic bottle and candles.

Line up lit candles vertically, then lay a plastic bottle on its side in front of them.

If you smash the bottle with a firm hit, air will rush out of the bottle’s mouth and extinguish the candle flames.

Because it’s just about blowing out candles, it’s the perfect quick trick to show in casual moments.

Practice beforehand and figure out a good technique and which bottles work best for consistent success.

Cut disposable chopsticks with a business card

Disposable chopsticks cut with a business card
Cut disposable chopsticks with a business card

You’d think it’s absolutely impossible to cut a hard wooden disposable chopstick with a paper business card, right? But it can be done! It takes practice, but once you get the hang of it, you can supposedly do it again and again.

Fix the chopstick at both ends, then swing the business card down from above to cut it.

The key is not to think, “There’s no way I can do this,” but to believe that you can.

Focus your mind and give it your all! When you pull it off, you’re sure to get a round of cheers!

Open a bottle cap with a single sheet of paper

I tried folding an A4 sheet of paper to use as a bottle opener.
Open a bottle cap with a single sheet of paper

It’s a quick party trick that lets you easily open a beer bottle cap using just a single sheet of paper.

You might wonder how paper could work, but once you fold it, the cap pops off easily.

Why not try it at a drinking party? By the way, you can probably open caps just as easily using a stapler, part of a room door, and similar items.

It seems useful not only as a party trick but also as a life hack.
