When someone says, “Do a quick gag!” you freeze up thinking, “What should I do?” Right? But no worries! If you do a comedian’s catchphrase or a simple impression, everyone already knows the bit, so it’s an easy way to liven up the mood.

People will be saying, “Yes, that one!” and “So nostalgic!”—it’s sure to spark a shared laugh.

Plus, most of these are super easy to copy, so you hardly need any practice beforehand.

This time, we’ve gathered comedian routines and impressions you can perform at parties and various events.

Give them a try for inspiration!

From station-wide announcements and the bullet train’s departure chime to the clacking of the tracks and in-car announcements—sound mimicry that recreates everything using only your voice.

By realistically reproducing everyday sounds we often hear—not just those of Shinkansen and trains—you’re sure to grab attention at any venue! Plenty of videos by creators and comedians have been uploaded, so be sure to study them to learn how to achieve a high level of polish.

It’s also a great idea to add acting and present it in a sketch-comedy style.

Kick-Up Workshop & Various Kick-Ups — Kick Up Tutorial & Variations
jumping up

Didn’t you ever try the ‘kip-up’ back in elementary school? Why not practice and give that kip-up—the move only a few athletic kids in class could do—a try? Once you build some strength and get the hang of the technique, you’ll be able to do it! If you show off your kip-up, you might even become as popular as you were in elementary school!

Crushing an apple with one’s hand

The image of crushing an apple with your bare hand is often used as a synonym for superhuman strength, and it apparently takes about 80 kg of grip strength to do it normally.

If you don’t have that much, there are tricks to make the apple more brittle, such as coring it or freezing it and letting it partially thaw.

It might be a bit of a cheat, but the performance of crushing an apple is incredibly impactful and really gets people excited!

bat breaking

Kyokushin Karate Sugimura Dojo: “Breaking eight bats, left and right” at the year-end party
bat breaking

It’s a trick where you snap a bat in one go with a kick.

It requires a certain amount of strength and careful attention to avoid injury, but it really showcases power and boldness, and I think it’ll be a super impressive, cool one-shot act! The practice is tough too, so please be very careful not to get hurt!

A cheat gainer is an acrobatic move where you swing your leg up, tilt your axis diagonally, and do a backflip.

In capoeira, this move is called a “folha.” You can also see it in parkour and dance, and it looks incredibly cool! There are plenty of tutorial videos online explaining how to do a cheat gainer, so if you’re confident in your athletic ability, give it a try.

If someone says, “Show us something,” pulling this off is sure to amaze everyone.

Aerial Walk

The aerial walk that surprised many people on social media.

When you first saw it, you probably suspected it was edited, right? Of course, it’s not actually composited—it just looks like you’re floating by cleverly controlling your body movements.

There are plenty of tutorial videos online, so take your time practicing while using them as a reference.

And if you get a chance to show off a party trick in a spacious area—say, while moving between the first and second party—give it a try!

riding on a 1.8-liter sake bottle

As the title suggests, it’s a simple yet profound trick: gripping a 1.8-liter sake bottle between both feet and standing on it.

All you need are a sake bottle, strength, and core stability.

It may look plain, but I hope you can sense the power behind it.
