A roundup of Spotify commercials: recommended ads where you can listen to songs by popular artists

Many people likely use Spotify, the music streaming service, because it’s free to use despite some feature limitations.

Spotify, which is so familiar to us, actively runs commercials—you’ve probably seen them, too.

The highlight of Spotify’s commercials is, without a doubt, the use of songs by popular artists.

In this article, we’ll introduce Spotify’s commercials all at once.

We hope it helps you not only find your favorite ad, but also discover the tracks that caught your ear in those commercials.

Spotify Commercial Roundup: Recommended Ads Featuring Popular Artists’ Songs (11–20)

Spotify “Spotify Wrapped” Edition

Spotify CM “Spotify Wrapped” Version 15 seconds

This is a commercial for Spotify Wrapped, the annual event held every December where you can view a report of the songs and artists you listened to most throughout the year.

Many people look forward to it because the data shows how they enjoyed music over the past year.

In this commercial, which marks the culmination of Spotify’s year, Eve’s “Aisai,” released in December 2021, is featured.

Pay attention to the lyrics, which focus on facing oneself while striving to move forward.

Spotify – Music for Your Everyday: “Cleaning Out the Family Home” Edition

Spotify | “Music for Your Everyday” - Cleaning Out My Parents’ House (Extended Version)

This is a commercial that reminds us of the greatness of music through a scene of a mother and daughter tidying up their home.

In the middle of cleaning, the woman playing the mother finds an old MiniDisc stereo and a stack of MDs she used to use.

As she picks one up and gazes at it nostalgically, the woman playing the daughter searches for the song on Spotify and starts playing it.

Seeing her mother close her eyes the moment the intro starts and listen intently, the daughter simply says, “Nice.” Many viewers probably felt a tug at the heartstrings witnessing a timeless classic transcend generations.

By the way, the song is ZARD’s “Yureru Omoi” (“Shaking Heart”), one of ZARD’s signature tracks released in 1993.

Its distinctly ’90s, accessible melody and Izumi Sakai’s clear, beautiful vocals are utterly captivating.

Spotify Music for Your Everyday: “On the Way Home from Karaoke” / “Car Intro Quiz”

Spotify | Music for your everyday — Karaoke homeward-bound version, 30 seconds

In this commercial, there’s a scene where a man who is a department manager at a company goes to karaoke with his subordinates.

Just when you think it’s a story about the manager not being able to keep up with his much younger team, he surprises everyone by singing Sakanaction’s “Kaijū,” instantly livening up the place! After karaoke, they chat about Sakanaction’s albums, someone asks, “You’re heading out already?”, and you can see how music helps bridge the gap between him and his team.

The closing message, “When you want to get closer, turn to music,” really sticks with you.

The song “Kaijū” used in this commercial was released in 2025 as the theme song for the anime Chi: On the Movements of the Earth.

It features a characteristically Sakanaction-like, soothing melody line and powerful lyrics about struggling yet striving to move forward, which is its appeal.

Spotify × Detective Conan: The Movie – Black Iron Submarine Special Video: Conan SIDE Version

The nationally beloved anime Detective Conan is hugely popular in theaters as well, with fans of all ages.

The April 2023 film Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine also drew attention for having its theme song crafted by none other than Spitz.

This is the “Conan SIDE” version of a collaboration commercial between Spotify and Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, featuring Spitz’s song Utsukushii Hire as the BGM—an irresistible video for fans of both!

Spotify “Suzume no Tojimari” Version

Spotify | Suzume (Suzume no Tojimari) CM 'RADWIMPS | Kanata Haluka' Version 15 Seconds

In the collaboration commercial with director Makoto Shinkai’s film “Suzume,” it even uses actual scenes from the movie, making it really captivating to watch.

Also, the part where the male student in the ad gets caught by his mother while he’s immersing himself in RADWIMPS’ “Haruka Kanata,” an insert song from the film, and she says, “What are you doing?” is pretty funny, isn’t it? That said, “Haruka Kanata” not only beautifully reflects the film’s worldview, but it’s also an utterly enchanting track thanks to Yojiro Noda’s clear high tones and the gorgeous string arrangement.

Spotify “New Year’s Eve” version

Spotify Commercial “New Year’s Countdown” 15 seconds

This New Year’s-themed piece is a commercial that aired at the end of 2019.

It’s memorable for its staging: a man playing the role of a temple priest strikes the New Year’s bell rhythmically to the beat of Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s “Inferno.” “Inferno” is a track released in 2019 and was also used as the opening theme for the anime Fire Force.

It’s an uptempo song distinguished by an aggressive-feeling guitar riff, and its lyrics, which convey a forward-driving positivity, are part of its appeal.

Spotify: “So, what shall we listen to? Elevator” version

Spotify CM "Now, what should we listen to? Elevator" Version 15 seconds

However, there’s already a stranger—a woman—inside the elevator, and an awkward atmosphere fills the space.

After somehow navigating that tense moment, the man dances on his way home while listening to music, and his joy is utterly charming.
