Karaoke songs that are easy to sing, even for those who aren’t confident at singing, recommended for teenage girls

Recently, with the rise of high-voiced male vocalists, it’s become an even tougher world for tone-deaf women when it comes to singing.

In particular, women who can’t hit high notes are probably having quite a hard time.

Of course, vocal range matters, but even more important is whether you’re choosing the right key for yourself.

With that technical point in mind, this time I’ve selected easy-to-sing songs I’d recommend for teenage girls.

CreepHyp is a popular band fronted by vocalist Sekai Kan Ozaki.

They specialize in indie rock rooted in pop music and have released numerous hit songs.

Among their tracks, the one I especially recommend is Asa ni Kiss.

You might not feel this way because of the full-band arrangement, but the vocal line is as simple as a children’s song, and there aren’t many high notes, so even someone who’s tone-deaf—if they’re a woman—would find it very easy to sing.

the red threadKobukuro

“Akai Ito” is a track from Kobukuro’s indie days, included on their 2000 independent album “Root of my mind.” It’s characterized by its crystal-clear vocals and the duo’s intertwined harmonies.

The song has a relaxed feel, so you can sing it without worrying about the tempo.

However, if high keys are challenging for you, lowering the key by about two semitones makes it easier to sing and is recommended.

In 2008, Yui Aragaki—who appears in the music video—covered the song, so women should definitely give it a try too!

Hamaiku is a musical duo consisting of comedian Ryuichi Hamaie and former Nogizaka46 member Erika Ikuta.

The unit was formed on NHK’s music program Venue101.

Speaking of their signature song, it would be “Beat de Touhi.” Since neither of the two is primarily a singer, the vocal line of this track is very simple.

There are no harmonies; they just sing the same line as male and female, so it can be considered an easy duet as well.

Yuika is a female singer-songwriter who rose to popularity from her singing videos on TikTok.

She excels at orthodox pop and is especially popular among teenage girls.

Among her songs, the one I particularly recommend is her new track, “Okusuri.” Although the song features falsetto, she’s simply choosing to sing in falsetto in parts that could be sung in chest voice.

So if you’re a woman with an average vocal range, you should be able to sing all parts in chest voice.

The group’s 19th single, “Itsuka Dekiru Kara Kyou Dekiru,” was selected as the theme song for the film Asahinagu, in which members appeared.

It was also used as the CM song for Haruyama Shoji’s “Regional Support Festival.” As the title suggests, its message—act on your ideas right away—really hits home.

With a narrow vocal range and no large melodic leaps, it’s approachable even for those who aren’t confident singers.

It’s a refreshing pop tune that feels great to sing over a clear, transparent ensemble.

Shaved Ice Unrequited LoveNogizaka 46

This song has a title that makes you go “Huh?” at first glance.

It’s included on Type-C of Nogizaka46’s second album, Sorezore no Isu, released in 2016.

The lyrics compare the fragility of unrequited love to things like shaved ice melting, portraying the aching heart of a love that likely won’t come true, a love that isn’t simple.

The vocal range is very narrow, so as long as you choose the right key, people with any voice type can sing it comfortably.

The lyrics can also be sung at a relaxed pace, so among Nogizaka’s songs, it’s on the easier side for karaoke.

Shiawase no Hogoshoku, released in 2020 as Nogizaka46’s 25th single and known among fans as Mai Shiraishi’s graduation song.

True to a graduation theme, the lyrics hint at goodbye, yet it’s more of a positive, clean-cut farewell song with a refreshing aftertaste.

With relatively little pitch movement and a narrow vocal range, it’s an easy track for many people to sing.

Try performing it with a steady, upbeat feel, riding along with the calmly ticking melody.
