snakeYorushika

Yorushika’s latest song, “Hebi” (“Snake”).
Since releasing “Aporia,” Yorushika has continued putting out lower-key tracks, and this new song is also arranged within a narrow range that’s easy for anyone to sing.
This work doesn’t feature the extremely low phrases that are characteristic of Yorushika.
Rather than being a “low” song, it feels more like a piece with a limited vocal range, and in keeping with that, the vocal line is crafted to be gently shaped with minimal rises and falls.
Because the instrumentation is somewhat subdued, be mindful of fade-outs and breathing when singing so the vocals don’t stick out awkwardly.
Otona BlueATARASHII GAKKO!

One of the most talked-about songs of 2023, Otona Blue.
It’s the signature track of ATARASHII GAKKO! and became a major hit.
The song is crafted with a nostalgic style based on Showa-era kayōkyoku.
Compared to modern songs, older tunes tend to feature more long tones, but the vocal techniques like enunciation and ad-libs are simpler.
Since this track is themed around old-school music, its melody is arranged to be very easy to sing.

BLACK DOLLЯu-a

Ru-a is a multi-talented female rapper known for handling her own trackmaking.
Her artist name is pronounced “Lua.” She’s especially popular among teen gals, and among her songs, “BLACK DOLL” is particularly recommended as a piece with a very narrow vocal range.
The vocals are processed with Auto-Tune throughout, keeping the range quite compact.
Because of the narrow range, adjusting the key is also very easy, so consider adding it to your repertoire.
Summer LoveInoue Sonoko

Singer-songwriter Sonoko Inoue, who first drew attention through street performances, is also known for her work as an actress that makes the most of her cute looks.
Her 2016 release “Natsukoi” is a song that portrays the sweet-and-sour romance of youth.
It features a band sound adorned with radiant strings, wrapping around lyrics that express pure feelings of love.
It’s an easy song to sing even for those who struggle with keeping rhythm or aren’t confident in their vocal power.
Sing this song with a bright smile and strengthen your bond with friends or your partner.
So, you are not alone.Little Glee Monster

If you’re looking for a catchy, easy-to-sing song for karaoke with friends, “Dakara, Hitori Janai” is a great pick.
It was released in 2017 by the female vocal group Little Glee Monster and was used as the ending theme for season 2 of the anime My Hero Academia.
The lively chorus layered over a danceable beat is especially memorable.
Since both the lead and backing vocals span from low to high ranges, try singing the part that best suits your own vocal range.
It’s a number that works whether you’re singing solo or getting hyped with friends.
smileikimonogakari

It was released in 2013 as Ikimonogakari’s 26th single.
The song was used as the theme for the Toho-distributed film “Pokémon the Movie: Black—Victini and Reshiram/White—Victini and Zekrom” (Best Wishes series) titled “Extremespeed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens,” and it won the Excellence Work Award at the 55th Japan Record Awards for the fifth consecutive year.
It’s a warm song that makes you smile when you sing it.
pupilŌhara Sakurako

Sakurako Ohara is a singer-songwriter who is also active as an actress in numerous films and TV dramas.
With her strong acting and vocal skills, she’s supported by a wide range of age groups.
Among her songs, the one we’d love you to sing at karaoke is Hitomi.
It was also used for the 93rd All Japan High School Soccer Tournament.
Its moving melody line, set to a slow tempo, strikes a chord.
Since the rhythm is easy to follow and the vocal range isn’t very wide, it’s recommended even for teenage girls who feel insecure about singing.
Try to focus on steady breathing and increasing your vocal projection as you sing.
