Pedometer Marathon

What an innovative indoor marathon! But despite the name, this is actually a “Pedometer Marathon.” It’s a game where you attach a pedometer to your foot and compete to see how much you can increase the count in one minute.

Even indoors, it’s a very active activity that lets you work up a sweat while having fun!

Hawaiian relay

The “Hawaiian Relay” is bursting with a tropical vibe.

Here’s what you do: a few people hold hands, and you pass “that big flower necklace you get when you arrive in Hawaii” from one end of the line to the other without letting go of each other’s hands! It wouldn’t be strictly Hawaiian anymore, but you could probably substitute a hula hoop, too.

horizontal tug-of-war

horizontal tug-of-war

Here’s a version of tug-of-war you can play indoors, like in a gym or classroom: “Yokozuna Tug.” Instead of lining up front to back, everyone lines up side by side and pulls the rope horizontally, so it doesn’t take much space! Just like regular tug-of-war, it can get pretty exciting and is a lot of fun.

Be careful not to get too fired up and end up getting hurt!

Rearrangement Quiz

[Hiragana Rearrangement Quiz] Easy Brain Training! Rearrange the letters to complete the words! [Dementia-Prevention Game for Seniors] #1
Rearrangement Quiz

This is a brain-battle game where you really have to think! As the name “Rearrangement Quiz” suggests, you attach scrambled hiragana to form words.

For example, if you see ちうよんえ, the answer is ようちえん (kindergarten)! Use your head and boldly take on the tough questions!

Let’s align our feelings and find the answer together! Here’s an idea for a three-letter quiz.

Quizzes are often individual competitions, but the appeal of this idea is collaborating with friends to answer.

For example, a question like “What comes to mind when you think of something sweet?” might be asked.

What answer would you think of? Each person writes one letter on a piece of paper, and when your answers match, it feels like your bond grows stronger.

Give it a try at your next event! It’s also great to share hints with each other.

The answer formed by stacking three pictures!

♪ Pajama Parties Song – Pajama Parties

Stimulate your imagination! This is a quiz where you stack three pictures.

You draw illustrations on transparent sheets like vinyl, and when you layer them, a single answer appears.

For example, the first sheet has the outline, the second has the eyes and mouth, and the third has the ears—stack them, and an animal emerges.

You can also create quizzes with vehicles, buildings, and many other themes.

If you can’t find the ideal transparent sheets, using clear ziplock bags is a good substitute.

The opening can act as a handle, making them easy to use.

Chopstick-Using Game

A slightly fussy and potentially frustrating game? It’s a chopstick-use game.

Prepare two plates and put soybeans, adzuki beans, or other beans on one of them.

At the start signal, use chopsticks to pick up the beans and move them to the other plate.

Time it, and the person who transfers the beans the fastest wins! Alternatively, you can set a time limit and compete to see how many beans you can move within that time.

It also serves as chopstick practice, so it could be a fun way to learn how to use chopsticks, don’t you think?
