Masterpieces and popular songs by the HIATUS
the HIATUS is fronted by Takeshi Hosomi, who also shines as the frontman of ELLEGARDEN and MONOEYES, taking on guitar and vocals.
Unlike those two bands, which lean more toward pop punk, the HIATUS is grounded in beautifully grand alternative rock.
Pay attention to the harmony woven by Hosomi’s clear, beautiful vocals and the highly skilled instrumentalists.

Top 10 iconic and popular songs by the HIATUS
Ghost In The Rainthe HIATUS

This is a track included on the 1st album, “Trash We’d Love.” The song is about a “shut-in crushed by despair,” and its content is meant to give hope to “him.” Whenever I listen to the HIATUS, I often think that the person who serves as the motif for their songs might, perhaps, be Takeshi Hosomi himself.
Shimmerthe HIATUS

This is a song included on the HIATUS’s 3rd album, “A World Of Pandemonium.” It has a calm melody with beautiful piano tones.
The lyrics are also very beautiful, as if to match the lovely melody, and it gave me the impression of not forgetting something that sparkles.
“Shimmer” also means to shine faintly, so I think it’s a perfect title.
Walking Like A Manthe HIATUS

This is one of the tracks included on the second album, “ANORMALY.” The lyric “I’m walking like a man” — meaning “I’m walking like an ordinary person” — also sounds to me like a declaration of not wanting to become that way.

Silver Birchthe HIATUS

This is a track included on the 1st album, “Trash We’d Love.” As expected, the gentle vocals are wonderful.
I think this song is full of hope.
Isn’t it a song that can make you feel positive and aim even higher instead of settling for the status quo?
Superblockthe HIATUS

This is a track included on the 3rd album, “A World Of Pandemonium.” The pop-style music video is adorable! The song itself is really cool, and it’s a standout that showcases Takeshi Hosomi of the HIATUS in a way you couldn’t hear during his ELLEGARDEN days.
Bittersweet / Hatching Mayfliesthe HIATUS

the HIATUS’s 2nd EP “Hatching Mayflies” features an MV that feels like a scene from a novel, and it pairs beautifully with the clear high-pitched vocals, making it all the more captivating.
I’ve heard that “Hatching Mayflies” means “mayflies hatching,” and this track expresses a sense of ephemerality.
Horse Ridingthe HIATUS

This is a track included on the HIATUS’s 3rd EP, “Horse Riding EP.” Acoustic guitar is used throughout the song, and my first impression is that it’s an extremely beautiful and delicate piece.
The surge in sound pressure when moving from the A verse into the chorus is another element that colors the track, making it a comfortable song with a clear contrast between motion and stillness.
