When you think of TUBE, you think of summer songs! It’s true that the majority of their hit songs are themed around summer, and they’re strongly associated with wearing aloha shirts all year round, but of course they’re active in other seasons as well.
They perform live shows throughout the year, too.
They’ve been labeled a “perpetual summer band,” but this time we researched songs that don’t fit that image.
You might discover TUBE’s charm from this different side of them, including some hidden gems—so please take a look!

Truth of TimeTUBE

This is a mellow song by TUBE released in April 2000.
It was also used as the campaign song for Japan Telecom’s “TUBE Hawaii Campaign,” and has gained popularity beyond the band’s fans as a compelling track.
LOVESONGTUBE

Originally, it was a track included on the remix single for Beach Time released in 1988, but it grew as it was performed live.
When the best-of ballads compilation was released in 1994, it was re-recorded and took on its current form.
With youTUBE

This song was included as the final track on the album Noryo.
The members of TUBE say that ballads serve as a palate cleanser on their albums, but fans perceive them quite differently.
Depending on the album, some of the ballads are actually the more popular songs.
moonlightTUBE

This song evokes TUBE’s image of autumn.
It was tied in as the theme song for Fuji TV’s Mezamashi TV and was released in October 2003.
The lyrics are richly expressive about lost love and time gone by, and the wistful melody touches the heart.
It paints poignant scenes—like a lover’s heart slipping away no matter how tightly you hold them, and promises that never came true.
While TUBE is strongly associated with summer, this track is perfect for long autumn nights.
It’s a recommended song for those who want to heal the pain of heartbreak or reflect on past romances.
fireworksTUBE

A 1998 song that sings about life in a way characteristic of TUBE.
The intro guitar brilliantly evokes a giant fireworks burst, and it’s a fan favorite that always gets the crowd going when performed live.
Despite feeling long in concert, the actual track runs about four minutes.
N.A.T.S.UTUBE

This song, which opened the 1990 “Aa Natsuyasumi” tour, vied for the single spot with “Aa Natsuyasumi,” but ultimately ended up as the eighth track on the album.
Because of its smooth, flowing feel, the producer at the time also commented that it lacked impact.
Tears into a rainbowTUBE

It once became a hot topic because the members themselves appeared in a boat-racing commercial featuring the song.
The track is well-crafted and popular at karaoke, but it carries a vibe that only vocalist Wataru Maeda can deliver.
Hearing it live makes you rediscover Maeda’s vocal prowess.
