In this article, I’ll be introducing classic Western songs whose titles begin with numbers.

When it comes to number-starting titles, some consist of numbers only, while others have words following the numbers.

If you’re knowledgeable about Western music, you might already have a few songs in mind.

That said, we don’t often search for songs by categories like “titles that start with XX,” so this could be a great chance to discover wonderful tracks you didn’t know before.

This piece, a reconstruction of a traditional English carol performed a cappella, is a dazzling opening number that kicks off the album “We Need a Little Christmas,” released in November 2020.

Its lyrics, which count through twelve days of gift-giving, build a distinctive sense of Christmas joy and anticipation.

In Pentatonix’s rendition, they preserve the original’s counting-up format while skillfully varying rhythms and harmonic structures across the different parts.

The result highlights meticulous choral work and a strong sense of tempo, enhancing the festive atmosphere of Christmas.

This is a highly anticipated collaboration between Maggie Lindemann, who forges her own path with pop-punk and alternative sounds, and Julia Wolf, who draws attention with her delicate indie pop.

Centered on memories of the past—specifically “2022”—the song portrays a poignant sense of loss and the feeling of self falling apart.

The contrast between Maggie’s resolute vocals and Julia’s whispery delivery is superb, bringing out the distinct appeal of both artists.

Coupled with melancholic guitar tones, it creates an emotional soundscape that strives for regeneration even amid deep hurt.

As a lead single from the album “i feel everything,” set for release in October 2025, this track is likely to resonate deeply when you want to confront your past.

Softcult is a Canadian twin duo who openly cite influences from ’90s grunge and shoegaze.

They’re also known for their DIY ethos and socially conscious messaging, and it’s still fresh in memory that their 2024 EP “See You in the Dark” was nominated for the JUNO Awards.

In September 2025, they released a new track from their first full-length album, “When A Flower Doesn’t Grow.” The song delivers a very serious allegation: grooming by an older individual.

The band’s knack for pairing a wall of distorted guitar noise that channels raw anger with a contrastingly dreamy, honeyed melody is truly impressive.

It’s a work that sets searing lyrics against a noisy yet pop sensibility—sure to resonate not only with socially minded rock fans but also with shoegaze lovers.

1995Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist

This is a collaboration that hip-hop fans should not miss, with moody guitar tones that stir the soul.

Hailing from Indiana, rapper Freddie Gibbs and producer The Alchemist formed a powerhouse duo that was nominated for the 63rd Grammy Awards with their 2020 album Alfredo.

On this work, The Alchemist’s signature spacious beats are raced over by Freddie Gibbs’s razor-sharp, athlete-like flow, creating a uniquely compelling world.

The lyrics, depicting street realities and a thirst for success, carry a powerful emotional pull for listeners.

It’s also striking that the track graces the end credits of the short film Alfredo: The Movie, shot in Japan, leaving the story with a lingering resonance.

It’s the perfect song for those moments when you want to sit with music and truly listen on your own.
