The commercials that air between TV programs can make you smile and think, “That’s great!” or leave you with a warm feeling, right? Among them, the ones that really get people talking are the ads with innovative direction that you can’t help but share with someone, or those with subtly funny storylines.

This is a collaboration commercial between JAL and the popular series “Solitary Gourmet,” starring Yutaka Matsushige.

Just like in the show, the ad unfolds through the monologue of Goro Inogashira, played by Matsushige, which leaves a strong impression.

The humorous twist—that he finds the seat so comfortable that he falls asleep and ends up not eating the in-flight bento he bought—makes it an amusing commercial.

UHA Mikakuto Ninja-Meshi “Messy-kun” Edition

A series of surreal Ninja Meshi commercials featuring Genta Matsuda of Travis Japan has become a hot topic.

In the latest spot titled “Messy-kun,” it riffs on the bubble-era slang term “Messy-kun,” with Matsuda saying, “I’m Ninja Messy-kun,” and handing Ninja Meshi to a kunoichi.

The way Matsuda delivers these humorous lines with a straight face is amusing and strangely addictive—you’ll find yourself wanting to watch it over and over.

Genta Matsuda has been cast in the commercial for UHA Mikakuto’s popular candy, Ninja Meshi.

Apparently, he was chosen after talking on a variety show about how much he likes Ninja Meshi, and he shares that story in the “I Like It” version.

Meanwhile, in the “Fan” version, Matsuda dresses just like the ninja depicted on the Ninja Meshi package and mutters, “I’m just a fan,” which is pretty funny.

Both spots are full of humor, so be sure to watch them closely.

[Ryo Yoshizawa] Fresh Rice “A Suspicious Dining Table” Version 30 Seconds

It’s a heart-pounding commercial where Shojiki Kaname, played by Ryo Yoshizawa, usually eats Iris brand packaged rice, but the presence of Iris fresh rice in the kitchen makes the woman played by Eri Murakawa cast a suspicious eye on him.

The way the woman coolly corners Shojiki Kaname is terrifying, and by the end of the commercial she forcibly feeds him rice with an “aah,” resulting in a surreal and laugh-inducing spot.
