Easter egg
Easter eggs are essential decorations for Easter festivities.
Let’s make some to match your event by painting or drawing on eggs! It’s fine to color the eggs directly with paints or colored pens.
If drawing on the round surface is tricky, using paper napkins is recommended.
Prepare paper napkins with patterns you like and cut out the parts you want to use.
Brush decoupage glue over the entire egg, arrange and stick the napkin pieces as you like, then brush more decoupage glue over the top.
Once it dries, you’re done!
Mole Tulip
Let’s make tulips that bloom in a rainbow of colors for spring using chenille stems (pipe cleaners)! Choose your favorite colors and fold them to the size of the petals.
Prepare as many of these parts as the number of petals you want.
While assembling the petals, attach a green stick to serve as the tulip’s stem.
Using a green pipe cleaner, make slightly larger leaves in the same way you made the petals.
Wrap floral tape starting from the base where the flower and stem meet, attaching the leaves as you go—that’s it! It’s also fun to combine several to make a tulip bouquet.
Spring String Art
String art is made by looping thread around nails hammered into a wooden board.
By changing the placement of the nails and getting creative with how you wrap the thread, you can make spring-themed pieces too! When hammering the nails into the board, place them as if you’re drawing the design you want to create.
After that, all you have to do is loop the thread around the nails you’ve set, and you’re done.
Try hooking the thread in various ways—between nails on the diagonal, in order from one end, and so on.
Experiment by combining several thread colors or varying the height at which the thread catches on the nails.
If you’re making a cherry blossom motif, you might also change the colors of the nails or thread for the petals and the stamens.
sensory bottle
A sensory bottle where the decorations inside gently sway is beautiful.
How about making a lovely sensory bottle with spring-themed decorations? Besides the decorations, you’ll need a clear bottle, liquid laundry starch or glue, water, and tape to seal the bottle cap.
First, put the decorations into the bottle.
To give it a spring feel, we recommend adding artificial cherry blossoms or petals, as well as pink cellophane or beads.
After adding the decorations, pour in the laundry starch (or glue) and water, then tape the cap so nothing leaks out—and you’re done! You could also use markers or paint to tint the water slightly.
Cherry Blossom Earrings (Pierced/Clip-on)
How about making cherry blossom earrings for a spring outing? Shape cherry blossom petals with wire, then pour in pink-tinted resin.
Combine five petals and attach a finding with a decorative center using resin.
Apply resin to both the front and back of the center to secure it firmly.
Then attach earring or clip-on hardware, and you’re done! You can also add other decorations or extra petals if you like.

Sakura Kusudama
Let’s make a round, cute cherry blossom kusudama using origami! We’ll create three-dimensional cherry blossom petals out of origami.
Once they’re ready, group them in sets of five to form individual cherry blossoms, then combine those blossoms to assemble a large kusudama.
Apply glue and assemble by imagining the corners being attached to each other.
To avoid gaps, be sure to apply plenty of glue where each flower overlaps—this is the key point.
Finally, attach a white bead to the center of each flower, and you’re done! It’s also fun to vary the size and color.
coaster
For those who want to make something for everyday use, coasters are a great option.
Coasters come in various materials like cork and plastic, but this time I’ll introduce an idea using clay.
First, make a mold using something like a toilet paper roll, and use it to cut out the clay.
Then bake it and attach it to a round backing to finish.
How about making cherry blossom petals and combining them at the end? Be sure to choose oven-bake clay.
lampshade
Let’s make a lampshade using materials sold at 100-yen shops.
The main items you’ll need are a balloon, shoji paper, glue, and a brush.
First, inflate the balloon, then use thinned glue to attach pieces of shoji paper to it.
Tear the shoji paper into suitably sized pieces beforehand.
Repeat this until it has some thickness, then attach decorations made from thick paper to finish.
It could be fun to make a lampshade that matches the season.

Wall decoration
Let’s create a wall decoration that can transform the look of your room.
A wall decoration is a general term for interior items that are displayed on walls.
There are various types, such as those you stick on or hang.
Among them, the one I especially recommend is a wall decoration that gently sways.
First, arrange strings hanging down from a single rod, and attach paper-made motifs to them.
When the wind blows, they sway and create an elegant movement.
Dandelion paper wall decoration
Here’s an introduction to a wall decoration inspired by dandelions that gives a lively impression with its bright yellow color.
Cut yellow paper into long, narrow strips and make fine slits along them.
Do the same with green paper, then combine the yellow and green strips, roll them together, and spread out the slit sections to shape them into dandelion flowers.
Cut green paper to create dandelion-shaped leaves as well.
Make as many flowers and leaves as you like.
Next, use six wooden stir sticks to form a shape like the kanji for “rice field” (a square grid) with the ends slightly protruding.
Attach the dandelion leaves and flowers to this frame, and you’re done! Hang it on a wall or door to welcome the arrival of spring.
