3D! Cherry Blossom Wreath

The 3D cherry blossoms are so cute! I’ll show you how to make a cherry blossom wreath.
Prepare origami cut into sixteenths.
First, flip a piece over and fold it in half so a corner is facing you.
From the center, fold the left and right corners diagonally upward.
Trim off any parts that stick out with scissors.
Apply glue (or paste) to both ends, hold the middle, and shape the edges.
Press so the tip becomes pointed.
Make six of these, then glue them together into a flower shape.
Next, use green origami cut into sixteenths to make the leaves.
With a corner facing you and the front side up, fold it in half.
Fold the edge up slightly, and make six, imagining a leaf shape.
Make a wreath-shaped backing, attach the flowers and leaves, and you’re done!
Rabbit garland

Some of you may have leftover yarn from craft projects you tried over the winter.
So, here are some spring-like ideas using yarn.
This one involves making a circle with pink yarn and adding felt ears to finish it as a bunny.
You can also use a yarn pom-pom for the circular part.
Have fun sticking them on the wall as-is, or make lots and turn them into a garland.
It’s a bit less spring-themed, but by changing the yarn color you can adapt it into a dog or cat, too.
Hanging ornaments of flowers and temari balls

Make it with origami! These are perfect spring decorations featuring flowers and a temari ball.
First, cut five pieces of origami paper into circles for the flower edges and three pieces into circles for the petals.
Cut each circle in half, glue the halves together, and crease both ends.
Using the creases as guides, accordion-fold the pieces.
Make five units and staple the bottom of each, then attach them together to form a flower.
Glue a small round piece of paper in the center to finish the flower.
Next, make the temari.
Fold a sheet of origami paper in half twice to make a square, then cut it into a circle.
Make ten of these.
Crease each one with a cross, open it up, then refold it in half with the colored side facing inward.
Staple along the horizontal crease and glue all ten pieces together to form a paper sphere.
Connect the flower and the temari with thread, and you’re done.
Indoor Hanami: Sakura Wall Decorations

Enjoy cherry blossom viewing indoors! Here’s how to make a sakura wall display.
Stack five sheets of tissue paper and accordion-fold them at a width of 1.5 cm.
Fold in half, open it, and staple along the crease.
Round both ends like petals, then lift each layer up one by one.
Next, make the cherry blossoms.
Take 2–4 cm origami paper, front side up, and fold it into a triangle twice.
Open it once, then use the center crease as the axis and fold both corners up diagonally.
Draw a petal shape along the axis and cut it out.
Open it, make a single slit on one side, and glue the edges together with wood glue to create a 3D shape.
Attach the petals to the tissue paper.
Finally, cut tree branches from construction paper, glue on the sakura flowers, and you’re done!
Cherry blossom wall decoration

Swaying wall decorations are lovely, aren’t they? A recommended way to make them is to combine strings to form a curtain-like shape and then attach petals to it.
For the petals, it’s best to cut them out of construction paper with scissors.
However, if you want to simplify the process, you can use a craft punch.
A craft punch is a tool that cuts paper into a specific shape when you punch it.
You can buy them at stationery stores, so give it a look.
Dandelion flowers and butterflies

A garland with dandelion motifs will create a cheerful atmosphere in your room.
A garland is a decoration where motifs are attached to a string and draped along a wall.
This time, we’ll make the dandelion petals with yarn and use construction paper to create the leaves and stems.
However, using only dandelions can feel a bit monotonous, so it’s a good idea to add paper butterflies as well.
And if you don’t have space to hang a garland, you can skip the string and simply put the pieces directly on the wall.
moss phlox

Enjoy a cherry-blossom-viewing mood with moss phlox! Here’s how to make moss phlox using a craft punch.
First, use the craft punch to make the flowers.
Press the center against a sponge to give them dimension and shape them.
Next, cut origami paper into cutouts to create petals.
Use the craft punch to make the stems.
Glue a paper doily onto construction paper, then cut along the doily leaving about 3 mm around it to make a backing.
Attach the flowers and leaves to the backing in the style of moss phlox.
Make as many as you like in your favorite colors and design them however you prefer.
Hanging cherry blossom ornament

For those who want to take their time and work on a large project, a cherry blossom wall decoration is recommended.
This involves layering felt petals to create cherry blossoms.
Connect many of these to make a garland.
If you’d rather decorate a space than a wall, attach the flowers you’ve made to each other in a circle.
That way, the blossoms look the same from any angle.
Since there are quite a few steps, it’s perfect for working on with multiple people.
Paper Butterfly

If you want a butterfly motif, paper butterflies are also a great option.
This idea uses items you can buy at a 100-yen shop and flower paper to make butterflies.
First, prepare flower paper in any colors you like—these will become the wings.
Then, use a pearl-like hair clip for the body and pipe cleaners for the antennae.
Make several butterflies with different wing openings and display them on the wall for a striking effect.
Artificial mimosa wreath

Having flowers in your room can really lift your spirits, right? But sometimes there’s no space to arrange them, or watering can be a hassle.
So how about making a wreath with artificial flowers? Here’s an idea: pair faux flowers with a wreath made of tree branches.
It won’t wither, and it doesn’t take up much space.
You can also switch out the flowers to match the season or your mood.
Try choosing springlike blooms such as mimosa.
