The Kouga Ninja ScrollsShinkai, Shouki, Kakan (Onmyouza)

Shinobi, Maneki, and Karukan, who perform as members of the heavy metal band Onmyo-za, are from Yawatahama City in Ehime Prefecture.

They released “Koga Ninpō-chō” as their 9th single, and the title track was used as the opening theme for the UHF anime “Basilisk: Koga Ninpō-chō.” It was Onmyo-za’s first tie-in song for an anime.

YELL! ~The 16th Summer~Inoue Shouko

A singer-songwriter from Yawatahama City in Ehime Prefecture, her signature song “YELL! ~The 16th Summer~” has long been beloved as an insert track for TV Asahi’s ‘Sokuhō! Kōshien e no Michi’ and has brightened numerous dramas.

Many people have likely been encouraged by her expansive vocals and empowering lyrics.

It might be nice to revisit the songs of this songstress who was active in the ’90s.

Sing a love song for meYamaguchi Yuko

Yuko Yamaguchi, who is active as a singer-songwriter, is from Matsuyama City in Ehime Prefecture.

She released her 10th single, “song a love song for me,” and the title track was used as an insert song in the Fuji TV drama Beach Boys.

The song has English lyrics, and the single also includes a Japanese version.

Kaoru Takaoka, who serves as the representative for Ehime Prefecture in AKB48’s Team 8, is from Ehime Prefecture.

She participated in “To 47 Wonderful Towns,” included on the theater edition of AKB48’s 37th single “Kokoro no Placard.” Takaoka has been a member since Team 8 was first formed.

Aidori (Aiseichō)Ajia Tsuinzu Hikari to Kaze Hi-Fu.

Hi-Fu, the Asia Twins Hikari and Kaze, are a female twin singer-songwriter duo from Matsuyama City in Ehime Prefecture.

They made their major debut with the single “Aidori” (written as 愛生鳥).

In addition to their singing careers, they also appear in exercise DVDs and release videos on YouTube.

Song of Couragedenshirenji

All four members of the rock band Denshirenji are from Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture.

Their song “Yuuki no Uta” gained attention as a tear-jerker and has surpassed 700,000 views on YouTube.

It was featured in a commercial for Iyo Bank and included in music textbooks.
