Set to a flowing, elegant melody, it sings of memories from far away from his hometown—of the hills and fields where he played with friends, and the loneliness of seeing his older sister off to be married.

Noboru Kirishima received the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 1970 and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette, in 1984.

Tomio Umezawa is an actor and singer from Fukushima City in Fukushima Prefecture, and this song was released in 1982 as his debut single.

Thanks to the song’s success, he won the Newcomer Award at the 1983 Japan Cable Radio Awards, and he also performed it at the 34th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen that same year.
