Kiyoshi Taguchi, who was active as a singer-songwriter, is from Fukushima Prefecture.

He formed the folk rock band Neko with Osamu Uchiyama, and after Neko disbanded he continued as a solo singer.

“Kakueki Teisha,” released by Neko in 1974, was a hit and is one of their signature songs.

Shining TearsHoshi Souichirou

Sōichirō Hoshi, who works as a voice actor and singer, is from Aizuwakamatsu City in Fukushima Prefecture.

His second single, “Shining Tears,” has sold a total of 40,000 copies, making it his biggest hit single.

The title track was used as the opening theme for the PlayStation 2 game “Shining Tears Cross Wind,” in which he voiced the main character.

Takayuki Sato, the tenor member of the male vocal group LE VELVETS, is from Kitakata City in Fukushima Prefecture.

After graduating from a music university, he passed the audition for LE VELVETS and made his entertainment debut in 2008.

In 2012, the group made their major-label debut with the album “Le Velvets.” In addition to his activities with LE VELVETS, he also began working as a musical theater actor, making his debut in the musical “Titanic” in 2015.

In 2019, he played the lead role of Jean Valjean in “Les Misérables.” He also participates in and performs at various concerts as a solo artist.

Masaru Shio is a singer from Iwaki City in Fukushima Prefecture who made his debut in 1937.

That same year, this song became a major hit, selling 300,000 copies.

In 1997, he received the 39th Japan Record Awards Special Achievement Award, and he also drew attention in the 21st century for continuing to sing even after turning 90.

A Story of the FutureChata

Chata is a singer from Fukushima Prefecture who is mainly active performing theme songs for games and anime.

This song is included on Chata’s third album, “Chata no Wa,” which was released in 2008.

It was used as the grand opening theme song for the PC game “Hoshi Furu: Hoshifuji Academy Astronomy Club.”

TAKEO, the drummer of Angelo—formed primarily around the brothers Kirito and KOHTA, who were also members of PIERROT—is likewise a former PIERROT member.

Although born in Kanagawa Prefecture, he hails from Koriyama City in Fukushima Prefecture.

TAKEO’s drumming features a uniquely groovy style, and his unorthodox technique has been well known since the PIERROT era.

When you listen to Angelo or PIERROT, be sure to pay attention to the groove of the drums!

Seiji Wada is an enka singer from Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, who originally debuted in 1987 under the name Tetsuya Todo.

After 11 years of apprenticeship as Saburo Kitajima’s attendant, he made his re-debut in 1999 with this song produced by Kitajima.

He received the Newcomer Award at the 32nd Japan Cable Radio Awards and the New Artist Award at the 41st Japan Record Awards.
