Requiem: Lark in the Wheat FieldOkabayashi Nobuyasu

Nobuyasu Okabayashi is a musician from Omihachiman City in Shiga Prefecture who made his record debut in 1968.
Known as the “God of Folk,” he earned strong support—especially among young people—as a leading figure of protest songs.
He also had a close relationship with the Showa-era songstress Hibari Misora and contributed songs to her, among other collaborations.
INCREDIBLEDENIMS

DENIMS is a four-piece band from Osaka that lays down feel-good sounds! Their music is rooted in funk and blues, yet it’s characterized by a delightful mash-up that pulls in hip-hop and city pop as well.
Since releasing their first nationally distributed mini-album “Daily use” in 2015, they’ve been on a remarkable roll.
In 2020, their track “I’m” was chosen for FM802’s heavy rotation, and in 2019 they provided a song for Coming Century—proof of their solid credentials.
They’ve even drawn 800 people to their own festival, ODD SAFARI.
Their sound somehow feels loose and earthy yet stylish, and it might be perfect if you’re looking for music that gently fits into your everyday life.

Vocalist Ikkyu Nakajima and guitarist Motifour Kida are from Shiga Prefecture, while bassist Hiromi Hirohiro is from Kyoto Prefecture.
The band was formed in September 2010 and has been active mainly in the Kansai region, centered around their hometowns of Shiga and Kyoto.
Influenced by groups like Number Girl, they leverage their high level of musicianship and trickily structured, richly unfolding melodies to perform not only in Japan but also across Europe.
Nakajima, who also handles the design of their merchandise, is well known as a member of Genie High.
They made their major-label debut in the first year of Reiwa with the single “Afureru.”

REBORNanrokku roobaa

A four-piece girls’ rock band formed in 2019 by classmates at a music vocational school.
Rooted in rock while incorporating pop and alternative elements, their diverse sound stands out as they candidly portray young people’s struggles and emotions under the theme “Unleash your individuality.” In 2021, bassist Yoha joined, completing the current lineup.
Centered around live house performances in Shinsaibashi, Osaka, they actively appear at school festivals and events as well.
Their powerful vocals and energetic performances create a strong sense of unity with the audience, and they share their music on social media and YouTube.
Highly recommended for those who value being true to themselves and seek music that resonates with genuine, relatable feelings.
I hope I can be your lover.Kaneyori Masaru

Kaneyori Masaru is a three-piece girls’ rock band based in Osaka, formed in 2014.
The members are Chitose Mina, Ishihara Mei, and Morimoto Sana, and they deliver a rock sound driven by pop melodies and powerful vocals.
They began in 2016 with a self-produced CD titled “Shisuko,” and made their major-label debut in 2023 with their first full-length album, “Watashi no Nocturne,” on Victor Entertainment.
Influenced by bands like BUMP OF CHICKEN and Chatmonchy, their songs sensitively portray everyday emotions and resonate with many listeners.
In September 2024, they sold out a one-man show at Osaka-jo Ongakudo.
They’re highly recommended for those who connect with down-to-earth, relatable lyrics.
The Night Before Goodbyeyayuyo

Formed by members of their high school light music club, Yayuyo is a four-piece girls’ band that began activities in Osaka in 2019.
Their appeal lies in a sound that fuses the nostalgia of ’90s rock with a contemporary pop sensibility, drawing on a wide range of influences such as aiko, CreepHyp, and SCANDAL.
Their first music video, released in December 2019, surpassed 800,000 views on YouTube and drew significant attention.
They’ve steadily built a track record, with a song from their album “Hibi Ranman” chosen as the ending theme for TBS’s “Ousama no Brunch.” With a concept of capturing everyday life in sound through a genre-free musical style, they’re a highly recommended band for anyone who enjoys diverse music.
nullparanoid void

Paranoid void, a three-piece band formed in Osaka in 2013, has been gaining attention for their instrumental sound that makes full use of odd meters and polyrhythms.
Their appeal lies in floating, atmospheric guitar tones and ever-shifting rhythmic phrases, with the performances of Mipow, Meguri, and Yu-ki combining exquisitely.
They debuted in 2016 with the mini-album “POP MUSIC,” and have released striking works such as the albums “Literary Math” and “travels in my universe.” In 2019, they performed on the “ROOKIE A GO-GO” stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’19, earning high praise for their ability.
Meticulously constructed compositions and exceptional musicianship make them a perfect fit for listeners who enjoy complex rhythm patterns and inventive sounds.
