Silk RoadKawai Seiko

Seiko Kawai is an enka singer from Nara City, Nara Prefecture, who made her debut with this song in 2001.
Her rich, feminine voice leaves a strong impression, and in 2008 she was scouted by the chief producer of Enka Hyakusen, leading to her appearances on the program starting in August.
Her soothing enka heals the heart.

Be careful with love.Shima Ryohei

Ryohei Shima, who was once the vocalist of The Mummy’s (Kegawa no Maries) and, after their breakup, became the vocalist of the dresscodes, is from Wakayama Prefecture.
The Mummy’s guitarist Kazuma Koshikawa and bassist Hiroko Kurimoto are also from Wakayama.
Shima’s live performances have a mysterious allure that instantly captivates anyone watching.
His distinctive, weathered voice and a cute personality that contrasts with his visual image are also part of his charm.
Even in the way he structures songs, he’s an artist who pays homage to classic rock while refusing to be bound to a single form, continually taking on new challenges.
Song of Amida BabaAkashiya Sanma

Akashiya Sanma, who works as a comedian and actor, is from Koza, Higashimuro District, Wakayama Prefecture—present-day Kushimoto, Higashimuro District.
He is also active as a singer, and one of his representative songs is “Amida Babaa no Uta.” The lyrics, composition, and chorus for this song were handled by Keisuke Kuwata of Southern All Stars.

Sensha Sugimoto is a singer-songwriter from Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture.
He’s a musician known for his unpretentious vocals and a deep musicality that blends chill, ambient atmospheres.
His sound sensibility slowly seeps into you, all the way down to your core—once you’re hooked, there’s no getting out.
His melodic lines have the kind of catchiness you’d find in the Japanese rock scene of the 2000s.

Ah!!murahachibu

Although they were active in the 1970s and many of the original members have since passed away, the legendary rock band Murahachibu still wields a strong influence in Kyoto.
The intensely powerful lyrics of Kyoto-born vocalist Charbō—what could be called “hiragana rock”—and the driving guitar of Fujio Yamaguchi have led some to call them “Japan’s punk,” predating the emergence of punk in the UK.
BRAND NEW STORYToukyou Pafōmansu Dōru

Futaba Tachibana, who is active as a second-generation member of the idol group Tokyo Performance Doll, is from Wakayama Prefecture.
She made her CD debut as part of the reborn Tokyo Performance Doll with “BRAND NEW STORY,” achieving a spot in the Oricon Weekly Chart Top 10—something the previous generation did not accomplish.
Nana-iro DanceNegishi Karen

Karen Negishi, who is active as a member of the idol group Takoyaki Rainbow, is from Wakayama Prefecture.
Takoyaki Rainbow was formed as a sister group to Momoiro Clover Z and Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku.
They made their major debut with the single “Nanairo Dance,” which reached No.
7 on the Oricon weekly chart.
