Bands, artists, and singers from the Kansai region (361–370)
kosumosu (cosmos flower)aoi remi

Remi Aoi is a singer-songwriter from Tenri City, Nara Prefecture, who is active mainly in the Kansai region, appearing at events and on television and radio.
This song was released in 2012, and she held the concert “Remi Aoi One-Man Live Cosmos: Feeling the Wind” at Shinsaibashi’s BIGCAT, achieving great success.
Miracle Go! Princess Pretty CureIsobe Karin

Karin Isobe is a voice actress and singer from Nara Prefecture, and this song was released in 2015 as the opening theme for the TV anime Go! Princess Precure.
It’s a song packed with the bubbly excitement of girls who admire princesses and all things cute, and listening to it fills you with happiness.
Goodbye, my beloved.Hana*Hana

Hana*Hana is a duo whose members Izumi Kojima and Makiko Ono are both from Takasago City in Hyogo Prefecture.
Their popularity exploded with the 2000 hits “Aa Yokatta” and “Sayonara Daisuki na Hito,” which remain signature songs that are still sung today.
They also created the theme song for the MBS TV program Chichin Pui Pui, a show likely familiar to people in the Kansai region.
Although they no longer live in Kyoto, Osaka, or Hyogo Prefecture, they continue to pursue activities with a strong Kansai flavor.
In Search of Love and DeathAoyama Kazuko

Kazuko Aoyama is a singer from Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture.
“I Look at Love and Death,” a collection of letters exchanged between a woman stricken with illness and her lover, was published as a book and became a bestseller.
It was also adapted into a film and a TV drama.
The theme song was sung by Kazuko Aoyama.
Not only the book and the film, but the song itself also became a major hit.
Menhera Circussylph emew

sylph emew is a five-member rock band from Shiga Prefecture.
“Menhera Circus” is included on their first EP, “Uncontrollable.” The song explores uncontrollable human emotions, instinct, and reason, and its music video expresses this through a black-and-white world.
HERE COMES ANGER FLARESANGER FLARES

ANGER FLARES, an Oi!/Street Punk band representing the Kansai punk scene, was formed in Kobe in 1999.
Although they disbanded once in 2002, they restarted in 2013.
Their music is characterized by a straightforward, powerful sound and wild vocals.
In 2014, they released the album “REBELS WITH A CAUSE,” delivering a thrilling punk sound.
They have shared the stage with many renowned bands both in Japan and abroad, and in 2023 they joined the legendary UK Oi! punk band COCKNEY REJECTS for all dates of their tour.
They’re highly recommended not only for punk rock fans but also for anyone seeking energetic music.

WorldEGG BRAIN

The rock band EGG BRAIN—affectionately known by nicknames like Egg, Eggbre, and EGG—features members JOEY and KUN, who are both from Hyogo Prefecture.
JOEY is half American, and his English pronunciation is highly regarded.
EGG BRAIN’s main draw is their authentic punk rock.
Their aggressive sound, reminiscent of American punk from the 2000s, is energizing just to listen to.
With many songs in English, they’re also recommended for fans of Western music.
