[BOØWY’s Masterpieces] A comprehensive showcase from hidden fan favorites to signature hits! (61–70)
MASS AGEBOØWY

It’s the ninth track on the debut album “MORAL,” and the interplay between the guitar riff and the vocals feels great.
Kyosuke Himuro’s vocal groove and Tomoyasu Hotei’s guitar groove intertwine brilliantly, making it irresistibly upbeat! It makes you want to dance!
LONDON GAMEBOØWY

A track included on BOØWY’s second album, INSTANT LOVE.
The guitar solo has a dreamy vibe that completely intoxicates you with its playing.
You can’t help but get fired up by the razor-sharp guitar.
It’s a song that makes you marvel at the brilliance of the cutting.
I’ve heard it was often performed as the last song at concerts.
Among fans, it’s known as a call-and-response song, popular for creating a sense of unity and getting the crowd hyped.
The lyrics, which poke a little fun at the London punk boom of the 1970s in the UK, are very unique.
BABY ACTIONBOØWY

With its offbeat guitar reminiscent of ska and an arrangement that shifts to a two-beat feel in the chorus, the song anticipates later ska-core and ska-punk, showcasing a different side of BOØWY.
The lyrics are based on a summer romance Himuro experienced in his second year of high school, and Hotei himself has said that the guitar solo was inspired by Tom and Jerry.
CHU-RU-LUBOØWY

The song was originally composed during the time when Himuro, Matsui, and Atsushi Morohoshi—who later left the group—were in a band called Despenalty during their high school days.
Although the composition is credited to Himuro, during their first live performance at Shibuya Kokaido, Himuro said in the MC that it was “a song I made with Morohoshi.”
SUPER-CALIFRAGILISTIC- EXPIARI-DOCIOUSBOØWY

A song included on BOØWY’s fifth album, released in 1986.
The title is said to be taken from the name of a song in the 1964 musical film Mary Poppins.
It’s said to mean a spell that opens the door to dreams.
The spelling is slightly altered, which is unique.
Speaking of unique, the song also quotes the opening of the first movement of Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik partway through.
The way they stylishly weave in classical music is exactly what you’d expect from BOØWY!
out!BOØWY

A man who shows off through the way he dresses and what he wears, and whose conversations are full of bragging.
Sometimes he’s looked at with admiration, other times he’s resented.
But once he goes home and is alone, he shows a side of himself you’d never imagine from his usual demeanor!? This is a song that portrays such a pitiable man.
MORALBOØWY

When it comes to this song, it would be impossible to discuss it without addressing the impact of lyrics that go so far as to declare a love for other people’s misfortune.
The raw words, distinctly different from the sanitized lyrics you hear on television, possess a power that only true feelings can have—cutting sharply through a society that lives by pretense.
