[BOØWY’s Masterpieces] A Comprehensive Showcase from Hidden Favorites to Signature Hits! (41–50)
OH! MY JULLY Part1BOØWY

I sense a refined taste in the way suggestive words are presented broadly as nuanced expressions.
I’m also thrilled by the approach of comically portraying the often murky, heavy friction between a man and a woman who can’t see eye to eye, set to an exhilarating, poppy melody.
16BOØWY

This song, which begins with a wistful vocal and arpeggios, originally consisted of two separate pieces that were edited together into one during recording, which is why it unfolds the way it does.
During the BOØWY era, for some reason it was hardly ever played live—a hidden gem.
JUSTYBOØWY

It’s a quintessentially BOOWY track with a memorable guitar riff and cool call-and-response drumming—perfect for blasting through the sleeping city at night.
Be warned when singing it at karaoke: there’s almost no time to rest until the guitar solo kicks in.
NO NEW YORKBOØWY

As one of their early signature songs, this track is unique in how it weaves in the unsettling phrase “tearing off flowers,” evoking the carefree audacity typical of a beautiful woman and a worldview that seems to mock the fate of the men ensnared by it.
It’s a long‑lived masterpiece that ultimately came to symbolize the band to the very end.
BELIEVEBOØWY

This is a slow-tempo ballad focused on vocals, included on the fifth album, BEAT EMOTION.
The powerful, beautiful singing is of course wonderful, but the guitar solo in this song also once again showcases just how amazing Hotei is.
TEENAGE EMOTIONBOØWY

It’s included on BOØWY’s second album.
It’s mid-tempo, but the theme is the cries of a young person’s heart.
The chorus has very melodic English lyrics.
It’s the part where everyone joins in a big sing-along at karaoke.
The lyrics are quite passionate and positive, so it seems like an encouraging song that will lift your spirits when you’re struggling.
SUPER-CALIFRAGILISTIC- EXPIARI-DOCIOUSBOØWY

A song included on BOØWY’s fifth album, released in 1986.
The title is said to be taken from the name of a song in the 1964 musical film Mary Poppins.
It’s said to mean a spell that opens the door to dreams.
The spelling is slightly altered, which is unique.
Speaking of unique, the song also quotes the opening of the first movement of Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik partway through.
The way they stylishly weave in classical music is exactly what you’d expect from BOØWY!
