Let’s decorate a Christmas cake

Cake decorating has a festive charm that excites children not only at Christmas.
Decorating paper cupcakes made from colored construction paper with their favorite designs can be an exciting activity for kids.
By pasting origami in various shapes or drawing pictures with crayons, each child’s original, creative decorations will surely make Christmas even more fun.
It’s also an enjoyable craft for teachers and children to work on together as they think about how to make the cupcakes look delicious or cute.
snow globe

A magical snow globe is the perfect object to brighten up any Christmas event.
If you place objects you’ve made from paper clay or origami inside a clear plastic cup, even children can create their own snow globes.
Make snowmen or trees, decorate by using cotton to resemble snow, and draw illustrations on the plastic cup.
Once finished, it’s sure to be an adorable piece.
By using thick paper as the base, you can display the completed work as is—making it a wonderfully Christmas-themed craft.
Give it a try!
reindeer hat

A reindeer hat that uses children’s handprints as antlers is truly a one-of-a-kind original, isn’t it? You can make a hat that looks like a reindeer just by attaching handprints made with brown paint to a paper bag.
If you create parts like the eyes and nose from origami, it will look more realistic, but since scissors are involved, be sure to make it together with an adult.
You can also adjust the fit by cutting slits in the paper bag to match the children’s head sizes, so give it a try!
Pac‑Pac Puppet

A talking paper-cup puppet you can make using a paper cup and colored construction paper.
Cut slits on both sides of the cup and fold the bottom in half.
The top half becomes the face and the bottom half the body; craft and attach the face, clothes, and other details with construction paper.
Besides colored paper, you can also decorate with ribbons, beads, or masking tape.
Santa Claus and a reindeer will adorably move their mouths—it’s a craft you can enjoy playing with together even after making it.
Paper tube Christmas decoration

Let’s try making Santa Claus, reindeer, and snowman decorations using toilet paper rolls.
Wrap a sheet of origami paper all the way around the roll, then cut out parts and attach ears, antlers, noses, and so on.
Finally, draw the face with a pen and you’re done.
It’s fun to make Santas and reindeer in your favorite colors—even if they’re not the traditional ones.
You can also add masking tape or stickers—decorate however you like! You can display them as they are, or add a string to turn them into ornaments.
magnet

Magnets in Christmas shapes can become decorative objects that brighten up your room even after the holiday season has passed.
You can easily make shapes like Christmas trees and wreaths by cutting out air-dry clay with cookie cutters and painting them with paints once they’re dry.
If you brush a coat of glue diluted with water over the entire surface instead of using varnish, it will create a glossy finish, so give it a try if you can.
Finally, attach a magnet with glue, and you’ll have a magnet you can stick on your fridge at home.
Be sure to try it out!

Yarn wreath

How about making a wreath with paper plates and yarn with your child as a Christmas decoration? Yarn wreaths look fluffy and very cute, adding warmth to any room.
They’re very simple to make: cut out the center of a paper plate and wrap yarn around the outer ring.
Use beads, ribbons, or felt for decorations to create a one-of-a-kind wreath.
Making it together with kids will be fun and is sure to become a wonderful Christmas memory.
