A work released by Crossfaith, the metalcore band Japan is proud of, following their long-awaited return to activity.

The fusion of electronica and metalcore is now their trademark, and drummer Tatsuya’s delicate yet powerful playing—backed by exceptional technique—plays a major role in supporting the massive sound.

Since its release in June 2024, it has been rolled out with the support of Warner Music Japan.

CYMBillyrrom
Billyrrom is a six-piece band formed in Machida, Tokyo, in 2020, whose songs have earned high praise for their sophisticated ensemble that moves effortlessly between soul, funk, jazz, rock, and pop.
It’s seriously cool how each member brings their own color to create the groove that is uniquely “Billyrrom,” and it’s surprising to hear that Shunsuke, the drummer, had no prior experience with instruments.
According to the members, Shunsuke is “the most devoted to Black music” in the group, and you can fully savor that in their track ‘CYM’ featured here.
In the latter half of the song, there’s a simple yet irresistibly tasty section where his playing weaves with the DJ’s scratching—definitely worth checking out!
Achoitricot
Despite being composed of a complex band ensemble that makes heavy use of odd time signatures, tricot’s work always packs in extremely poppy, catchy melodies.
This track, included on the album “Fudeki” released in December 2022, unfolds a progressive sound characterized by intricate rhythms and melodies.
The blend of driving momentum and shifting rhythms creates an energetic, live feel, with drummer Yusuke Yoshida’s advanced technique standing out in particular.

Haku is a noteworthy band that first released music in 2020 as a high school girl band.

Their August 2024 track “dedede” features a sound that hints at post-rock influences, with tastefully cool, light-touch drumming that leads the groove within a sparse, spacious ensemble.

Oh my loveHump Back
Hump Back, a rock trio from Osaka, has been working tirelessly since the mid-2010s and rising to prominence in the music scene, even pulling off a successful show at the Nippon Budokan in 2022.
Drummer Misaki was the last member to join the band.
As the backbone of Hump Back—known for their stylistically diverse songs—she supports the ensemble while occasionally driving the group forward with aggressive playing, the kind of drumming that many beginner drummers surely admire.

Kick it awayAkeru yoru no hitsuji
From the very start, an aggressive drum roll explodes, perfectly locking in the song’s sense of speed! Released in 2024, “Keritobashite” is a track by Akaru Yoru no Hitsuji, the first four-piece band to emerge from Sakura City in Chiba Prefecture.
With Kawano Yui’s striking vocals that seem to reach straight into your heart and a refreshing guitar sound that sits squarely in the mainstream of 2020s Japanese rock, they’ve been drawing attention on the indie scene.
“Keritobashite” is especially captivating for its catchiness, grabbing even first-time listeners right away.
Noguchi Ayumu’s drumming centers on a simple, aggressive 8-beat, while subtle arrangements throughout firmly support the song’s world—one that conveys both power and poignancy.

Perfect-Sense DreamerONE OK ROCK
The hard-hitting, powerful drum performance is insanely cool! It’s one of the signature songs by the popular rock band ONE OK ROCK, released in 2010 as their fourth single.
The explosive energy from the B-melody into the chorus is incredible! The lyrics convey a strong will—“I’m going to push forward just as I believe”—and the sound matches perfectly.
