The magic of a candy standing on its own

It’s a magic trick where you lay a lollipop (a candy with a stick) on your palm and it stands up on its own.

By subtly arching your palm and letting it roll, you gradually shift the candy’s center of gravity until it rises.

Focusing on small details—like exactly where you place the candy and how you arch your hand without being noticed—creates a mysterious appearance.

It also helps to draw attention to the other hand with a gesture as if you’re sending power, so the audience looks there and misses the arching motion.

Magic using an eraser case

[Today’s 1-Minute Secret Reveal] A simple yet amazing magic trick using an eraser case
Magic using an eraser case

Here’s a simple magic trick you can do with an eraser from your pencil case.

Try it at school, the office, or at home.

First, cut out just two sides of the eraser’s sleeve and stick them onto the eraser.

Prepare this modified eraser.

Then, show only the side without the sleeve, and as you blow on it, secretly rotate the eraser 180 degrees in your hand.

It will instantly look like the sleeve has appeared.

Just make sure they don’t get a chance to examine the eraser and see that only two sides have the sleeve, and it’ll be perfect.

Read Your Mind! Math Magic

[Arithmetic Magic] ~I will read your mind and guess the number~
Read Your Mind! Math Magic

First, choose a number from 1 to 9.

Then add 1 to that number and multiply by 2, then add 6 and divide by 2.

Finally, subtract the number you originally chose, and you’ll end up with 4.

It’s a magic trick where no matter which number you pick, the final result is always 4, so as long as you remember the steps, anyone can perform this prediction trick successfully.

As long as the arithmetic or mathematical expression holds, you can change the content and arrange it in different ways, so why not come up with your own version?

Calculation magic that results in 6

It’s a magic trick I like to show when I want people to get interested in numbers.

In this trick, you create equations that always come out to 6.

For example, if you insert plus signs into “2 2 2,” the equation works and equals 6.

Or if you insert multiplication and subtraction into “3 3 3,” the answer also becomes 6.

By inserting symbols like this, you neatly complete the equations and calculate as if by magic.

If you’re interested, try coming up with your own equations too.

Let’s predict the sum of four numbers!

[Revealed] [Easy Magic] Predict the sum of four numbers!! Math Magic [Kiddy Land Osaka Umeda Store Magic Shop]
Let's predict the sum of four numbers!

Let’s try predicting a total using a 4×4 grid of numbers.

First, have a spectator choose one number from the grid.

Circle the chosen number, then cross out the squares directly above, below, to the left, and to the right of it.

Repeat this process, and in the end, add up the four remaining numbers—that total is what you’ll predict.

The trick is, no matter which numbers are chosen, the total will always be 20! By setting eight numbers along the top and right edges so that paired sums equal 20, and then filling the grid by adding those values, you can construct a table where the total is guaranteed to be 20 every time.

99-times-table calculation magic

99-times-table calculation magic

In elementary school, we memorize the multiplication table (the times table) like a chant.

The usual table goes up to 9, but in this trick we take on the 99-times table! Without long multiplication or mental math, you’ll produce the answer instantly.

The secret is that the result for multiplying by 99 can be formed by taking the answer for multiplying by 9, splitting it into the hundreds and ones places, and simply putting a 9 in the tens place.

For example, 99×2 is 198, and 99×3 is 297.

If you first write the hundreds and ones digits and then quickly fill in the tens digit with a 9, most people will think, “You only wrote a 9—there’s no way that’s correct.” Show them it matches perfectly and give them a surprise!

Even elementary schoolers can do it! Guess the trump card numbers

Even elementary schoolers can do it! Guess the trump card numbers

This is a playing card magic trick where you guess the card someone has chosen.

In this trick, the spectator returns their chosen card to any spot they like, and you pretend not to know where it is—but in fact, from the moment it’s returned, the performer already knows its location.

The key to making this trick work is the bottom card of the deck.

While squaring the deck and demonstrating that the cards are well shuffled, make sure to firmly remember what that bottom card is.

Then, at the moment the chosen card is returned to the deck, place the key card directly on top of it.

By doing this, you’re able to keep track of the position of the chosen card!
