Simple Magic Tricks with Everyday Items (1–10)
Spoon bending

Spoon bending has that classic magic feel to it, doesn’t it? People often think, “Aren’t you just bending it with brute strength?” and to be honest, when you actually bend a spoon, you are using force (haha).
But as long as the spoon isn’t extremely rigid, if you apply the physics concepts you learned in science class—fulcrum, effort, and load—you can bend it with surprisingly little force.
If you bend it in an instant, in a way that doesn’t look like you’re straining, it looks much more impressive.
And with some creativity and technique, you can make it seem as if you really bent it with psychic powers, so be sure to check out various videos for ideas.
Cotton swab appearance-disappearance magic

I’ll introduce a cotton swab appearance/disappearance magic trick where hand movements are key.
In this trick, a cotton swab appears and disappears from your hand, and even seems to travel from right to left.
The secret is quite simple: you just tape the tip of the swab near your thumbnail.
With the right finger movements, it looks like the swab is appearing and vanishing.
Since the audience’s perspective is crucial, practice in front of a mirror.
Anything similar in size to a cotton swab will work, too.
Simple magic tricks with everyday/household items (11–20)
Make an object appear from a handkerchief

It’s a magic trick where a pen appears from a handkerchief that’s supposed to be empty.
You drape the handkerchief over your right hand while holding it in your left, and when you remove the handkerchief, a pen appears.
The secret is that you’ve been hiding the pen in your right hand from the start.
Make sure to conceal it skillfully in the shadow of your hand and arm.
The most important point is: don’t look at your right hand that’s hiding the pen! By not drawing any attention to your right hand, your behavior will look natural and it’s less likely to be noticed.
A magic trick where rubber bands pass through each other

Practice a rubber band magic trick and surprise your friends! Using rubber bands of different colors makes it easier to see that they pass through each other, so it’s recommended.
While your friend is holding out their hand, hook two rubber bands onto your own fingers.
The key is to set up while they’re off guard.
Don’t just perform the trick—have your friend pinch the rubber bands themselves and make them pass through, so you can enjoy it together.
Say something like, “I’ll cast a spell!” to hype it up!
Balloon Resurrection Magic

You might think they’re going to inflate the balloon they’re holding, but suddenly they start cutting it with scissors, slicing it cleanly in half top to bottom…
Yet when they blow into the mouth of the balloon, it somehow inflates! Kids who see this will definitely wonder, “Why?” The secret is that there’s another balloon hidden inside the cut one.
However, if you just insert it as-is, the inner balloon will get cut when you use the scissors.
Before inserting it, fold the inner balloon inward with a stick or similar tool, place it inside the outer balloon, and then hold the mouth to perform the trick.
Magic where the contents of a snack move

This is a magic trick where the candy inside seems to move, and you can do it without any practice.
Prepare something like gum that comes in a small box.
Choose something as small as possible that makes a sound when you shake it.
Once you have four, empty three of them, and attach one to your right wrist with a rubber band or something similar.
Then say, “Out of these three, only one has something inside,” and shake the boxes.
When you want to create the illusion that the contents are in the box, grab and shake with your right hand; otherwise, use your left hand.
Casually switch hands so it doesn’t get noticed.
Toothpick Vanishing Magic

Here’s a simple magic trick you can do with just a toothpick and a rubber band.
The toothpick disappears in an instant.
It’s perfect for killing time while you’re waiting for your food at a restaurant, so give it a try.
First, wrap the rubber band around the toothpick and pull it tight so it won’t come off.
With the rubber band still on your hand, hold the toothpick between your thumb and index finger.
When you release your thumb, the band snaps back and the toothpick vanishes instantly.
Long sleeves are recommended to keep the band out of sight.
