Easy Magic Tricks for Kids (1–10)
A handkerchief coming out of an empty tube

At first glance it’s just an empty-looking tube, but when you say the magic words, a handkerchief comes out from inside—kids go wild for this trick.
The key is to use two sheets of construction paper: roll one into an outer tube and the other into an inner tube.
Make the inner tube by rolling it at a slight angle so that, when you insert it into the outer tube, a hidden gap is created between them.
When performing, keep the opening that holds the handkerchiefs facing yourself so the secret isn’t visible to the audience.
Using about two handkerchiefs makes the trick even more exciting, so it’s highly recommended!
Snacks coming out of a tissue box

Candy comes out of a tissue! Here’s a magic trick that kids are sure to love.
In front of the children, take two tissues from the box and crumple them up.
Then, amazingly, a piece of candy appears from the crumpled tissue! The secret is that you’ve already placed, out of sight on top of the tissue box, a tissue wrapped around a piece of candy.
When you take the tissues, you also pick up the pre-wrapped one and crumple them together.
You can adapt this with any small candy that can be wrapped in a tissue, so give it a try!
Instant change! A magic trick where the construction paper changes color

This is a magic trick in which the color of a sheet of construction paper that’s folded in half changes instantly.
Because the magician simply opens the paper, you can’t help but wonder, “Why?”—the simplicity of the motion makes it all the more mysterious.
The secret is that the paper has been prepared in advance.
Specifically, sheets of different colors are attached together.
First, glue together only half of two sheets of construction paper in different colors.
Next, place double-sided tape about 2 cm offset from the center of the sheet that will be shown first, and stick the papers together.
When you open the paper of the initial color, the paper of the new color will naturally unfold, and if you do this quickly, it looks as if the color has changed.
Besides performing it smoothly so the method isn’t exposed, be mindful of the angles visible to your audience when you present it.
Magic that stretches the face in an illustration

The magic trick where a normal illustration suddenly stretches its face when you wave your hand over it is simple and a big hit with kids, right? The key to this trick is making slits in the backing paper with the drawing—that’s the secret to success.
By inserting a different backing with another design, the original picture transforms.
Draw a version of Anpanman with a stretched face on a separate sheet, and design the illustration so it fits perfectly into the slits.
When performing the trick, be careful about the timing of when you change the picture.
It’s a fun trick that makes people involuntarily go “Oh!”
Magic that turns water into ice instantly

It’s a simple magic trick that kids can perform, where water in a cup transforms into ice.
The key is to prepare two paper cups and place a tissue inside one of them.
Secure the tissue with tape so it doesn’t fall out, then secretly place the ice-to-be inside beforehand—that’s the secret.
When you pour water into the other cup, the tissue absorbs the water, and when you turn the cup over, the water appears to have transformed into ice! It’s an easy trick for children to try, so give it a go!
Number guessing using a 3×3 grid

Here’s a number-guessing trick that uses a 3×3 grid.
First, write a 3×3 grid on a whiteboard and fill it with the numbers 1 through 9.
For which number goes in which cell, please refer to the video or similar materials.
Next, have someone choose a number and move clockwise by that number of steps.
Then have them repeat this about two more times.
Mysteriously, they’ll end up back on the cell of the number they first chose! As long as you prepare the grid, you can perform this trick easily.
Eraser that makes stars appear

No special preparation needed—here’s an eraser trick where a star appears.
All you need is a very ordinary rectangular eraser.
Beforehand, draw a star on one side.
Once you’re ready, let’s begin! First, show the eraser to your spectator, subtly turning your wrist so it looks like you’re showing both sides while actually showing only the blank side.
Then simply flip the eraser over, and it will seem as if a star suddenly appeared.
Of course, you can use a symbol other than a star if you like.
