More than one million species of insects have already been identified, and many more are thought to remain undiscovered. Insects are creatures that live in many different places around the world, including forests, towns, and deserts.

The center of the Earth is called the “inner core,” and it is extremely hot. Its temperature is thought to be about 5,000–6,000 degrees, roughly the same as the surface of the sun. It is so hot that even rock and metal would melt in such an environment. However, because it is the deepest part of the Earth, humans have not yet seen it directly.
