How about decorating your interior to evoke the starry sky of Tanabata and heighten the excitement for the occasion? The key element is the Milky Way, which is especially important in the folklore surrounding the festival.
Make an origami Milky Way the centerpiece, and then adorn the surrounding area with various motifs.
It’s fun that the choice of colors and motifs lets the creator’s personality shine through.

Autumn Recreation (1–10)

Many people experienced sweet potato harvesting as children during “imo-hori” (potato digging).
If you had a garden, you’ve probably grown them at least once.
Why not try growing and harvesting sweet potatoes yourself? In fact, sweet potatoes can be grown in planters, and there are varieties that are easy for beginners to cultivate.
They’re delicious simply baked, and you can also enjoy them as desserts like candied sweet potatoes (daigaku-imo) or sweet potato pies.
If you have the space, why not gather fallen leaves and make nostalgic roasted sweet potatoes the old-fashioned way?

If you’re going out in autumn, I recommend going to see the fall foliage! As temperatures drop toward winter, autumn is still a great time to be out and about.
Plus, many people want to catch a glimpse of the beautiful autumn leaves.
If famous foliage spots are too crowded to visit, just heading to a nearby park or plaza will still let you soak up the autumn atmosphere.
If you bring home some beautiful red and yellow leaves and display them in a frame, you’ll be able to recall those happy moments anytime.
Spider Web Ball Toss
It’s a game where you throw balls at a spiderweb-like target, aiming to make as many balls stick as possible.
The web and its surroundings are made of adhesive materials like tape, so throw the balls with enough force for them to stick.
As you keep trying, the stickiness gradually decreases, which makes the game feel more challenging over time.
Along with the fun of the game, be sure to pay attention to the surrounding decorations to create a strong Halloween atmosphere.
Halloween Strikeout
It’s a target-throwing game where you toss balls at a board illustrated with various Halloween motifs.
By focusing on the targets and throwing the balls, players also get to learn what kinds of motifs appear at Halloween.
Encouraging them to be mindful of ball control makes it a perfect physical activity as well.
Decorate not only the targets but also the surrounding area with Halloween-themed elements so participants can fully experience the event’s atmosphere.

Participants form a circle and pass a balloon around while trying to get it into the Halloween tower in the center.
Be careful not to drop the balloon—watch the timing and aim for the tower.
When a balloon goes into the tower, flip over one panel on the whiteboard and try to guess the hidden word.
If you think you know the answer, raise your hand and check it.
If the answer is wrong, put the balloon into the tower again, flip another panel, and gather more clues.
Target shooting game with an air cannon
This is a game where you use a tube that shoots bursts of air to knock down Halloween-themed targets.
The air cannon is made by punching a hole in a candy container and attaching a cut balloon, using the balloon to propel the air.
How you design the targets is also important—adjust their weight and the base they sit on to enhance the gameplay.
It’s also essential to focus on decorating the air cannon and the targets to create a strong Halloween atmosphere.
