Spot the differences

When it comes to Halloween-themed recreation that also trains the brain, spot-the-difference is a perfect choice.
Place two illustrations side by side and find the differences within a set time limit.
Prepare Halloween-specific images like pumpkins, ghosts, and witches.
Since it can be played while seated and without any materials, it’s easy on older adults—another plus.
Incorporate buzzer rounds or quiz formats to liven up the program.
How about creating an original spot-the-difference game using photos or illustrations unique to your care facility and giving it a try?
Ghost-slaying game

Here’s an idea for a “ghost knockdown game” based on bowling.
First, print and cut out ghost illustrations and stick them onto the bowling pins.
Place the pins at a distance, then aim at the pins and kick a ball to knock the ghosts down.
If you don’t have dedicated pins, plastic bottles will work fine.
Plastic bottles are handy because you can adjust how easily they fall by adding water.
If small children or seniors are playing, or if you’re using a light ball, it’s better not to put water in the bottles.

Halloween Monster Catcher
https://www.tiktok.com/@rico.co984/video/7553235826529029383This is a game where you use a catcher made from paper cups to try catching snacks scattered on the table.
The catcher features a design inspired by a classic Halloween ghost, making it look as if the ghost is lunging at the treats.
To make it, you layer a paper cup cut into an arm-like shape over another paper cup with a ghost drawn on it, and connect a stick to the arm part to create a mechanism that allows the arm to move.
The ease of grabbing changes depending on the arm’s shape and movement, so using those variations to add to the gameplay is also recommended.

It’s a game like the classic “Concentration” (Memory) played with playing cards: you flip over cards laid face down and try to find matching pairs.
It tests your memory of where each card was, but since the cards feature Halloween illustrations, they might be easier to remember than numbers.
Each card is simple, with a black paper backing behind the illustration, so it’s also fun to involve participants from the crafting stage—have them think about what motifs to include.
While exercising their memory, participants can also soak in the Halloween atmosphere through the various motifs that appear in the game.
Ring toss activity with Halloween hats

The rule remains the same—toss a ring and score if it lands on the target—but to create a Halloween vibe, the targets are witch hats.
You can easily make them by combining a circular piece of construction paper with another piece rolled into a cone.
How about adding a touch of Halloween to your usual game with this idea? You could make the hats in several colors and vary the points by color.
If you plan to use them multiple times, be sure to reinforce the hats for durability.
Candy grab game

Candy is essential for Halloween, with costumed children roaming around in search of treats.
Focusing on Halloween sweets, this game invites participants to try a candy grab from inside a box.
The rules are simple: see how much candy you can take out in a single grab.
Encourage players to think about strategies for grabbing more.
You can also add a fun twist by making the hole in the box smaller so that if they grab too much, their hand gets stuck and they can’t pull it out—watching them figure it out will liven things up.
Put care into decorating the box, too, so everyone can fully enjoy the Halloween atmosphere.
Heart-Pounding Halloween Game

It’s an idea where you treat balloons as monsters and enjoy a target-throwing game.
When you pop a balloon to defeat a monster, there’s a surprise: candy comes out from inside! But balloons can be surprisingly hard to pop.
So after you’ve enjoyed the target game, use a pin to prick the balloons and take out what’s inside.
Popping balloons itself makes for a thrilling game.
Be sure to put the candy in before inflating the balloons.
You can easily decorate them as monsters using stickers or construction paper.
Hang them from the ceiling or in the breeze and they double as decorations—two birds with one stone.
