Tochi-Oto Musubi FestivalSun, 5/10 – Niigata Prefecture

Tochi-Oto Musubi Fest!! 2026 is a free outdoor music event held in the Tochio area of Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, with the concept of a “happy matchmaking festival that fills both heart and stomach.” The venue is the covered plaza at Tochiole, surrounded by mountains, where live performances and dance shows by locally connected artists such as Hinata and Atsushi Nakano will take place. Fifteen food trucks will line up, offering a full day of music and Tochio gourmet. Scheduled for May 2026.

The Early Spring Song Music Festival is a music event hosted by Azumino City and the Soshunfu Aishokai, held at the Horigane–Hotaka area of the National Alps Azumino Park in Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture. With the concept of letting voices resonate from the place connected to the song “Soshunfu” (Early Spring), and set against the rich nature at the foot of the Northern Alps, the festival features an open-call stage and a free music plaza that welcome performers regardless of professional or amateur status. Cherished as a participatory music festival created together with attendees, it will mark its 22nd edition in May 2026.

HARE stämman is the new name for the Swedish-style participatory music event “Nordic Forest Concert,” held every May since 2016 in Matsusaka City, Mie Prefecture. With the catchphrase “Bring your instrument and gather,” it will mark its 9th edition in 2026. The venue is the Ureshino Furusato Kaikan Multipurpose Hall, and the event is scheduled for May 4, starting at 12:30 p.m. Advance tickets are 2,500 yen, same-day tickets are 3,000 yen, and admission is free for elementary school students and younger.
