Strawberry cake made with paper cups

[Kindergarten/Preschool] Spring Craft / Easy / How to Make a Strawberry Cake ♡
Strawberry cake made with paper cups

The strawberries look so realistic and delicious.

Let me show you how to make a strawberry cake using a paper cup.

Get a paper cup, paint, tissue paper (hana-gami), crayons, red and green construction paper, and glue ready.

Use the paper cup as the cake base and paint it.

While the paint is drying, make the strawberries with the construction paper.

When drawing the center of the strawberries with crayons, I recommend coloring with pink first and then layering white crayon on top to add a three-dimensional effect.

Once you’ve glued the tissue paper onto the paper cup to look like whipped cream, stick the strawberries on top and you’re done.

It’s also fun to try different colors of tissue paper and paint.

Enjoy the feeling of skating! Here’s how to make an ice rink using paint.

First, paint light blue onto drawing paper.

Use plenty of water.

Crumple some plastic wrap, spread it out, and place it on top.

Once it dries, peel it off to reveal an ice-rink pattern.

Cut it into a circle to finish the rink.

Next, make the pieces to stick onto the rink.

Swipe to see how to make little figures, and try sticking embroidery thread onto the rink—it looks like skating tracks and is super cute.

Once your pieces are ready, glue everything onto the drawing paper and you’re done! We also recommend adding stickers in any empty spaces.

First, fold a sheet of construction paper in half.

Open it and place about three colors of paint on one side.

Fold it again to transfer the paint, and once it’s dry, cut it into the shape of an oni.

Punch holes where the eyes will be, and make horns by rolling colored paper into cones.

Be sure to draw patterns on the paper before rolling it.

Attach yarn for the hair, and draw the face with crayons or similar materials.

Finally, make a headband from construction paper to fit the child’s head size, attach it to the mask, and you’re done!

Pompon Heart

Handmade Valentine 💕 3 easy heart crafts ✨ #shorts #childcare
Pompon Heart

Here’s a craft idea using small pom-poms you can find at 100-yen shops or craft stores! Draw your favorite shape on a backing sheet and apply glue along the outline.

Then, before the glue dries, simply place the pom-poms on top.

Using pom-poms gives the piece a fluffy, wintery look.

If you stick on small, crumpled pieces of tissue paper, it will look like a bouquet, and sprinkling glitter will give it a sparkly, stylish finish.

It also sounds fun to combine multiple materials!

♪ Original Song – Rin Mama: Enjoy with your child through parent-child handmade crafts – Rin Mama: Preserve baby memories cutely with 100-yen store DIY

Fun to make and display! Here’s how to create a heart ornament perfect for 4-year-olds.

First, cut tissue paper into 3 cm × 3 cm squares, and shape air-dry clay into a heart.

Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter helps make a clean shape and is recommended.

Press down from above with a clear case or similar to neaten the edges, and the base is done.

Next, use a pointed stick to press the tissue paper into the heart, filling it in.

It’s cute as is, but if you make a hole at the top of the heart and let the clay dry, you can thread a string or pipe cleaner through to turn it into an ornament.

Give it a try!

Ehomaki made of paper

Setsubun Craft: “Make It with Paper! Ehomaki♪”
Ehomaki made of paper

When it comes to sushi rolls eaten on Setsubun, we think of Ehomaki.

Let’s all make Ehomaki together and enjoy the Setsubun atmosphere.

For the fillings, use four colors of origami cut in half, and for the rice, use two sheets of kitchen paper.

Roll each of the four colored origami pieces into long, thin sticks, wrap them with two sheets of kitchen paper, and finally wrap the whole thing with black cardstock as the seaweed.

Your Ehomaki is complete! The action of rolling the “seaweed” is fun because it feels like making real sushi rolls.

For 4-year-olds, it could be fun to let them choose their own filling colors to create original Ehomaki, and then pretend to eat them while facing that year’s lucky direction (Eho).

In conclusion

We’ve shared lots of craft ideas for four-year-olds in February.

Projects that incorporate seasonal events like Setsubun and Valentine’s Day really spark children’s interest and motivation.

Using familiar materials such as yarn and tissue paper lets them enjoy working with their hands, too.

Be sure to have fun with February-only crafts together with the children!
