Karaoke songs that make it easy to score 100 points [for women]
With the rise of K-pop in recent years, the difficulty level of Japanese music has risen significantly.
In karaoke scoring—where pitch control is paramount, especially because melodies now tend to jump more drastically—there seem to be far fewer songs with which you can realistically aim for a perfect 100.
So this time, we’ve selected easy-to-sing tracks, focusing on recent releases, that you can target for a 100! We’ve also included concrete technique explanations from a vocal coach, so be sure to read through to the end!

rainbow-coloredayaka

This is Ayaka’s 13th single, released in June 2014.
It was written as the theme song for the NHK morning drama series Hanako and Anne.
Ayaka is known for her highly acclaimed vocal ability, so some people might have the preconception that her songs are difficult to sing.
However, Niji-iro, which I’m introducing here, is built on a very friendly, easy-to-sing melody.
If you listen carefully to the original and sing it with care, scoring 100 at karaoke is by no means a dream.
Be sure to study and prepare thoroughly—even down to the subtle nuances of each phrase—and give it a try.
I feel that a key point is smoothly switching between chest voice and falsetto.
Fiancé-kkyunano

Ano-chan, who’s everywhere on TV.
As a singer, she performs under the name ano and has nationwide hits.
Among her songs, the one I especially recommend is “Iinazuke-kkun.” It’s crafted with a Chinese pop-like vibe.
It may sound high, but that’s due to ano’s vocal timbre; surprisingly, the song is built within a relatively narrow range.
The chorus is very catchy, and since there aren’t flips between falsetto and chest voice, it’s a track that makes it easier to score a perfect 100.
User ManualNishino Kana

Kana Nishino’s 27th CD single, Torisetsu—also the theme song for the film Heroine Disqualified—was released in September 2015.
It’s an adorable song that fills you with a warm, cozy feeling just by listening.
The vocal melody is very easy to remember and hum along to, so it’s definitely one of the top picks when you want to aim for a perfect 100 at karaoke! The beat has a bit of a bounce to it, so make sure to listen closely to the drums in the backing track and sing in a way that keeps your groove from becoming flat.
Nothing specialSakurazaka46

Among the Sakamichi groups, the idol group Keyakizaka46 is especially known for its stylish musicality.
While many of their songs are complex, their newly released track “Nothing special” is different.
It’s a mid-tempo piece with an impressive, grand arrangement, but it features numerous rests and gently flowing pitch movement, making it exceptionally easy to sing.
The vocal range isn’t exactly narrow, yet it doesn’t go particularly high either, so in many respects it can be considered a very singable song.
Be sure to add it to your repertoire.

sunflowerAdo

This is Japanese female singer Ado’s 17th digital-only single, released in July 2023.
It was chosen as the theme song for TBS’s Tuesday drama “18/40: Dreams and Love If We’re Together.” True to its title, the song is crafted so that just by listening, you can picture a field of sunflowers under a clear summer sky.
Ado delivers a superb performance, employing a variety of vocal techniques and expressive singing, yet the melody itself doesn’t span a particularly wide range and is very easy to hum along to.
It’s also a great choice if you want to aim for a high score at karaoke.
If you sing it with clear contrasts between each section of the song, it’ll feel even better!
27:00Burandē Senki

Brandy Senki is a girls’ band whose sophisticated musicality has earned them high praise within the industry.
If you’re a woman tuned into stylish music, you’ve probably heard of them.
Among their releases, the one I especially recommend is “27:00.” The structure places the verses (A and B sections) in the lower register and lifts slightly from the chorus, but the melodies in every part are gentle in range, making it easy to stay on pitch.
The chorus doesn’t demand a particularly wide range either, so if you can produce stable mid-to-high notes, you should be able to aim for a high score without trouble.
LoopKamishiraishi Mone

Mone Kamishiraishi is a female singer who is also active as an actress.
She’s a multi-artist who shines both on screen and in her songs.
Her hit track “Loop” is a perfect choice for scoring 100 points.
If I had to sum it up in one phrase, it feels like orthodox J-pop.
With the simple melodies and relaxed tempo characteristic of J-pop, it’s ideal for matching pitch in karaoke.
The vocal range isn’t too wide either, so give it a try.
