wheat clay

[Indoor Play] Clay Fun with Homemade Dough! Enjoy it from the making stage♪ How to make safe and secure flour dough that’s perfect for little kids♪
wheat clay

Many children love playing with clay.

So here’s a suggestion: homemade playdough made from wheat flour.

The great thing about this idea is that you can enjoy the process of making the dough itself.

All you need are flour, salt, oil, and water.

Just mix and knead them together, and you’re ready to go.

Adding food coloring is also recommended—the bright colors help spark imagination.

By the way, you can do the same using rice flour instead of wheat flour.

Try whichever you prefer.

air cannon

[Science Play 005] Let’s Make a PET Bottle Air Cannon!
air cannon

How about making a simple air cannon—familiar from science experiments—using a plastic bottle? After you make it, you can also build targets and play! First, prepare a plastic bottle with the bottom cut off, and a balloon with its neck tied and the opposite end cut off.

Next, stretch the balloon over the cut end of the bottle and secure it with vinyl tape—that’s it! To play, just pull the tied end of the balloon and release.

It’s also fun to make air cannons of different sizes and compare them! If you draw pictures on the targets or assign points, it adds a game-like element and makes it even more enjoyable.

gachapon

Let's make a handmade cardboard gacha machine capsule game!
gachapon

Believe it or not, there’s a way to make a capsule toy machine (gachagacha) out of cardboard.

In this idea, you equip the cardboard with a mechanism using plastic bottles to recreate the machine.

You can experience that heart-pounding excitement of turning the knob right at home.

Make the coins out of cardboard, and use real capsules.

You can load the capsules with toys, or use them for a lottery-style game.

There seem to be plenty of ways to play.

flying disc

Frisbee with everyday materials: paper plates, paper cups, cardboard, how to throw ❤︎ DIY/tutorial/Frisbee/paper plates/paper cup/cardboard/craft ❤︎ #741
flying disc

How about making different kinds of flying discs using familiar materials like paper plates and paper cups? First, a flying disc with only a hole on the top: cut a circular hole in the bottom of one paper plate, stack it with another plate, staple them together, and wrap the rim with vinyl tape.

It’s fun to decorate with stickers and pens.

You can also try a paper-plate flying disc without any cuts, a disc made by cutting a paper cup (leaving the bottom intact) into eight strips and spreading them out, then attaching two of those together top and bottom, or a disc made by tracing a circle on cardboard with a plate, cutting it out, and joining two rings.

It would be fun to prepare various types and compare how they fly!

kaleidoscope

I tried making a kaleidoscope with Seria's mirror-style sheet! “Liquid Kaleidoscope” #SummerVacationCrafts #DIY #HandmadeToys #Kaleidoscope #SeriaFinds
kaleidoscope

A kaleidoscope with sparkling, beautiful patterns that spin around.

You can easily make one using mirror sheets and a clear case from a 100-yen shop, plus a toilet paper roll.

First, cut three mirror sheets to 115 mm × 32 mm.

Leave about a 1 mm gap between each and tape them together with cellophane tape to form a triangular prism.

Next, put beads, liquid laundry starch, and water into the clear case, and seal it securely with cellophane tape.

Fold black construction paper to fit the toilet paper roll, make a peephole in the center, and attach it.

Insert the mirror triangular prism into the roll, attach the clear case, decorate as you like, and you’re done!

ring toss

[Festival Crafts] Ring Toss♪ Easy Craft! Festival Vibes! Make and Play!
ring toss

How about enjoying a festival mood with a ring toss game you can easily make using newspapers and plastic bottles? You’ll need newspapers, plastic bottles, construction paper, vinyl tape, paints, and so on.

First, roll up the newspaper into a ring shape and wrap it with vinyl tape to make the hoops.

Next, fill plastic bottles with water and paint to create the targets.

It’s fun to attach a score sheet on the outside or add eyes and a mouth to make faces.

Assign points like 10, 30, and 50, and prepare small prizes to make it even more exciting!

Milk Carton Stacking Game

Here’s a super easy activity you can do with a milk carton! Guaranteed laughs—this one’s a hit! The Stacking Game! #DayService #ActivitiesForSeniors #Elderly #Seniors #Recreation #Rehabilitation #shorts
Milk Carton Stacking Game

The “Tsumitsumi Game,” made by cutting a milk carton into thin strips, is a simple handmade game you can enjoy with everyday materials.

Players take turns stacking the cut pieces and compete to see how high they can build without toppling the stack.

It’s great for young children to develop fine motor skills, and it also challenges adults’ concentration and sense of balance, making it fun across a wide range of ages.

With simple rules, it’s easy to play in a short time and is recommended for family or friends.

The satisfaction of a successful stack and the funny mishaps when it collapses make for lots of laughs.

Its appeal also lies in the convenience of using recyclable materials and the freedom to change how you play with a bit of creativity.

A UFO catcher made with two paper cups

This is a paper-cup craft that lets you enjoy an arcade-like experience using only everyday materials.

Cut slits into the first paper cup, spread them open, and fix a straw in place to create an arm-like mechanism.

Punch a hole in the second paper cup and thread the straw through it to complete a movable arm.

Set lightweight toys or paper-made prizes in place, and kids can enjoy the excitement of aiming and catching them.

Playing with a device they made themselves boosts their sense of accomplishment and helps develop observation and problem-solving skills.

It’s a unique idea that’s both fun and educational, guaranteed to get everyone engaged.

Great for party games too! Pinecone Kendama

How about making a pinecone kendama you can play with after crafting? First, use pens and stickers to decorate two paper cups however you like.

Once you’re done, glue the cups together bottom to bottom, then use kite string to connect the cups and the pinecone—that’s it! You can give the cups a Christmas-themed design, or decorate them and imagine the pinecone as a Christmas tree.

With a bit of creativity, it turns into the perfect holiday craft.

Be sure to finish it as a pinecone kendama that looks great on display, too.

A full-fledged crane game that even beginners can make

A full-fledged crane game that even beginners can make

This is a crane game that delivers a stable finish by proceeding through the steps in order.

Cut the cardboard into individual parts, and thread bamboo skewers and string to create the movement mechanism.

Carefully securing everything with glue improves durability.

By combining binder clips and popsicle sticks for the arm, it can perform a gripping action, and using wooden dowels and boards expands the range of control.

The moment you lift a prize feels just like the real thing, and it’s sure to captivate not only children but adults as well.

It’s a practical idea that keeps material costs low while offering both a sense of accomplishment and plenty of play value.
