DAN DAN my heart is being drawn to youFIELD OF VIEW

This was FIELD OF VIEW’s fourth single, released in March 1996.
It was the opening theme for the TV anime Dragon Ball GT and also served as the theme song for the theatrical feature Dragon Ball: The Path to Power.
It drew attention as well because Izumi Sakai of ZARD wrote the lyrics.
I was involved with the same label around that time, so this song is quite memorable for me.
It features a very striking chorus melody, characteristic of 1990s J-pop, and the song starting right at the chorus was also a common pattern for hits of that era.
Since it was from a time when songwriting strongly targeted the karaoke market, if you’re a male singer comfortable with high notes, this song shouldn’t be too hard to sing.
There aren’t any particularly tricky technical parts, so sing it energetically and with a bright, open tone.
Love SongGReeeeN

This is GReeeeN’s third single, released in May 2007.
Since it’s a very high-key song, it would be an ideal choice for men who are good at high tones.
While many recent pop-rock tracks that center on high notes are often sung using falsetto or mixed voice, this GReeeeN song is notable for hitting piercing high notes with the chest voice and head voice—essentially staying in a strong, non-falsetto register.
It might be the perfect song for high-voiced guys to show off their skills (or throats?)!
Fragment of a MeteorGReeeeN

A track by GReeeeN released exclusively via digital distribution on February 23, 2022.
It was chosen as the theme song for the Amazon Original drama “My Love from the Star.” As the title suggests, it’s an extremely refreshing, crystal-clear song, and within that sound you can enjoy vocals that are likewise highly transparent.
If you sing this song at karaoke, avoid forcing strained high notes, as that will ruin the song’s clarity; try to keep your throat open even in the high parts.
Also, aiming your voice toward the upper palate when you sing can enhance the sparkling quality of your tone, so give that a try as well.
Self-revolutionGReeeeN

This is a digital-only single by GReeeeN, released on May 16, 2022.
It was selected as the Shiseido “SEA BREEZE” commercial song.
The chorus of this track is likely where high-tenor male singers can really showcase their voices.
However, it’s also important to be able to sing the A-melody parts in a lower register, so make sure to practice delivering a solid, resonant tone in the low parts as well.
It’s a very challenging song to sing at karaoke, but give it your best shot!

budGReeeeN

This is a song by GReeeeN, a four-man Japanese vocal group, released digitally in March 2021.
It’s interesting that all the members of GReeeeN are dentists.
As for the song itself, it features a mid-tempo, approachable melody designed to showcase the appeal of slightly high-pitched vocals, making it an ideal choice for men with higher voices to sing at karaoke.
Like the original artists, aim to create a clear contrast between the gently sung verses and the powerful chorus.
Musically, if you switch to falsetto on the highest notes of the chorus, the song’s impact may be reduced, so if the range feels tough, it’s better to lower the key before singing.
If I turn around…Janne Da Arc

Janne Da Arc’s 25th single, released in February 2006.
It served as the theme song for the film “HIRAKATA,” in which the band members appeared.
It’s a medium-tempo, ballad-like track that showcases exceptionally soaring high-tone vocals and is one of the band’s signature songs.
If you try to belt the high notes by constricting your throat, you’ll undermine the original song’s expansive feel, so to sing this well, it’s essential to develop vocal technique that lets you hit high notes with an open throat.
Guys with naturally higher voices might have an advantage!
With the hazy sky at my backJanne Da Arc

This is a song that was used as the ending theme for the anime Asobot Senki Gokū.
Janne Da Arc has many songs in keys that women can sing, so they’re also a perfect artist for men with high voices! This track is fresh and upbeat, making it perfect for karaoke.
