Recommended karaoke songs for male vocalists with high voices

In recent years, the number of male artists with high-tone voices has increased significantly.

Some naturally have high voices, while many others use techniques like mixed voice and belting to hit high notes.

This time, we’ll introduce a wide range of karaoke songs recommended for people with high voices!

Of course, they’re great for men with naturally high voices, but also for those who want to be able to sing in the higher range or practice their mixed voice.

These tracks are perfect as practice songs, too!

Why not use the songs we introduce as a reference and belt out high-tone vocals at karaoke to your heart’s content?

Life scoreNovelbright

Novelbright – Lifescore [Official Music Video]
Life scoreNovelbright

This is Novelbright’s eighth digital-only single, released on July 12, 2021.

It was produced as the theme song for the film “Inubu!” and is said to be Novelbright’s first movie theme song.

The vocals by Yudai Takenaka, who makes full use of his high tones, are wonderful in this track.

He brilliantly conveys the song’s world by switching between various high-register techniques—from a piercing, chest-voice head tone to a gentle-sounding falsetto.

Falsetto is often used as a kind of “escape” for high notes, but in his case, you never get that impression, which is remarkable.

I think it’s also an ideal practice piece for men who are good at high notes or naturally have higher voices to develop expressive singing with high tones.

This is the five-member rock band Novelbright’s 14th digital-only single, released in April 2023.

It was written as the opening theme for the anime Blue Orchestra.

Throughout the track, the clean, dramatic string arrangement leaves a strong impression.

Vocalist Yudai Takenaka elevates the song with a performance that employs a wide range of high tones—from gentle falsetto to a very resonant, powerful chest-voice high register.

Being able to recreate this in karaoke might be a special privilege for the high-tenor crowd! That said, please be careful not to strain your throat by forcing those notes.

OCTAVEOCTPATH

OCTAVEOCTPATH

OCTPATH is an idol group under Yoshimoto Kogyo that’s gaining popularity for their sharp dance performances and steady vocals.

Their authentic, K-pop-level performances are a hallmark, and they’re winning fans nationwide.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is OCTAVE.

The biggest draw of this track is the falsetto right before the chorus.

While the difficulty itself isn’t high, it’s a song that lets high notes shine, making it a great pick for men with higher voices.

Make It Out AliveONE OK ROCK

ONE OK ROCK × Monster Hunter Now – “Make It Out Alive” Music Video
Make It Out AliveONE OK ROCK

This is ONE OK ROCK’s 11th digital-only single, released in August 2023.

It’s the tie-in track for the mobile game Monster Hunter Now.

The distorted guitar sound and Taka’s incredibly powerful high-tone vocals are a perfect match, making it a very cool rock song! I feel like it’s also a track where male high-voice singers can really shine.

However, if your vocals sound weak, the song’s appeal won’t come through, so try to sing as powerfully as possible from start to finish.

Engage your abs around your navel and sing as if those muscles are lifting your ribcage—doing so should give you a much more powerful vocal tone.

Definitely give it a try.

ONE OK ROCK: Wasted Nights [OFFICIAL VIDEO]
Wasted NightsONE OK ROCK

It’s a track from ONE OK ROCK’s ninth album, Eye of the Storm, and it also served as the theme song for the live-action film adaptation of the popular manga Kingdom.

It was released in February 2019.

The song is very challenging for the average Japanese male to sing at karaoke, not only because of the high notes but also because a large portion of the lyrics are in English.

However, for those who are good at hitting high notes, it’s an excellent choice.

If you’re comfortable with English lyrics, even better—but even if you’re not, a little charm can go a long way.

Even within this single song, the vocals skillfully switch between a gentle, whisper-like falsetto and a resonant head voice that leverages the chest voice, so it’s best to study in advance which parts to sing with which type of voice.

It’s a difficult song, but the satisfaction of mastering it is all the greater.

Give it your best shot and take on the challenge!

WonderONE OK ROCK

WonderONE OK ROCK

A song by ONE OK ROCK that was first unveiled during their online concert held in October 2020.

ONE OK ROCK’s tracks are known for showcasing powerful, masculine high notes, and this song is no exception—you can fully enjoy the strong, soaring vocals that stretch effortlessly.

Since it’s a live recording, the singing exudes a true “live feel” you can’t get from the studio version, which is another part of its appeal.

I imagine many men aspire to have a singing voice like this.

Official HIGE DANDism – Anarchy [Official Video]
AnarchyOfisharu Higedan Dism

A digital-only single by Official HIGE DANDism, released on January 7, 2022.

When it comes to Higedan, they’re now one of the leading artists known for their captivating high-tone vocals.

Even in this slightly buoyant mid-tempo track, they deliver some truly wonderful high notes.

Vocalist Satoshi Fujihara skillfully switches between chest voice, mixed voice, and falsetto to sing the high phrases beautifully, so I think it works well as a textbook-like song for practicing high-range singing.

Try to focus on smooth transitions between vocal techniques and producing plenty of higher overtones while keeping the tone from becoming harsh.

Also, if your rhythm gets flat, you’ll lose the charm of both the song and your voice, so be sure to really lock into the groove.
