A snowman wreath made with paper plates and colored cellophane
A wreath is a classic ornament known for decorating walls and doors.
As a craft idea perfect for winter in childcare settings, how about making one with a snowman motif? By cutting out the inside of a paper plate and flipping it over, you can easily create the snowman’s shape.
Use origami paper, chenille stems (pipe cleaners), and beads to make the body parts and scarf.
If you plan to hang it on a window, adding colored cellophane will give the wreath a sparkling, festive finish.
It’s also recommended to pre-cut the paper plates so children can work on the craft safely and with confidence.
Stained glass-style snowman made with transparent origami
This is a wall decoration that lets you enjoy colors reminiscent of vibrant stained glass.
First, create a frame that surrounds the entire illustration.
Next, use construction paper to make a snowman sized to fit inside the frame.
Place the frame on a sheet of parchment (cooking) paper, apply OPP tape over it from above, then peel off the tape and attach the snowman.
Finally, stick transparent origami paper over the gaps so there are no openings, and you’re done.
It’s a clear, translucent wall decoration perfect for the cold month of January—try making it together with the children.
A cat snowman

Here are some ideas for room decorations you can enjoy at home during the snowy winter season.
There are plenty of tips for staying warm and having fun indoors, even in the cold.
When lots of snow piles up in winter, you feel like playing in it, right? The first thing you want to make is a snowman.
Try making snowmen out of colored construction paper and decorating your room by sticking them on the wall.
The standard design is a chubby, two-sphere, two-head-tall snowman, but why not add a little twist and make a cat-shaped snowman? Once you’ve cut construction paper into the classic snowman shape, attach cat ears and a face, along with a hat and mittens, and you’re done.
Arrange lots of cute cat snowmen here and there to decorate your space.
Cookie ornament

These ornaments look like felt recreations of icing cookies featuring snowmen.
By layering felt, you can create a sense of depth and softness, and since the motif is cookies, it also evokes a fun, cheerful feeling.
Cut ochre-colored felt—reminiscent of a cookie—to form the snowman’s outline, then stitch on a smaller piece of white felt to build the snowman shape.
After that, just add the snowman’s accessories and it’s done.
Even if you’re not comfortable with hand sewing, you can simply use adhesive to attach the pieces, which makes it easy to make.
Once the base color conveys the look of an icing cookie, you can freely customize the accessories, which is part of the fun.
Olaf made with construction paper

Olaf, the snowman character from the Frozen series, is perfect for a January wall display themed around snowmen among the many Disney characters.
Cut construction paper according to the template and glue the parts together.
The trick is to keep Olaf’s unique shape in mind and sketch the outline little by little.
You could also enhance the storytelling by displaying him together with Elsa and Anna.
Be sure to incorporate this beloved character into your childcare setting.
