Energy PopPakiruka

Do you know Pakiruka, a non-genre rock band bursting with youth and energy? They’re a four-piece from Kawasaki, Kanagawa.
Formed in May 2022 by members who met in their high school light music club, the band takes its name from the internet slang “pakiru,” meaning to get super hyped.
They say they want both themselves and the audience to “pakiru.” Centered on rock, their sound blends a wide range of genres—from pop and hip-hop to jazz and R&B—keeping listeners hooked.
So far, they’ve released two singles: Anisakis ga Shinu Yō ni and Energy Pop.
Each roughly three-minute track is packed with their passion for music.
MEND OUR MINDSASPARAGUS

It’s a rock band formed in Yokohama in 2002.
They drew attention by undertaking what was, at the time, an unprecedented move in the indie scene: simultaneously releasing two albums on their own label.
After some lineup changes, they remain a highly skilled band that continues to focus on live performances.
Satisfied?The Muddies

Riding the revival boom, The Muddies are one of the most talked-about bands right now.
Rooted in alternative rock influenced by garage rock and Black music, they fuse authentically Western-style phrasing with the passionate energy characteristic of Japanese rock.
Rather than a vocalist-centric act, they’re a band that lets the entire ensemble carry the songs—akin to King Gnu—with intricate developments appearing throughout their tracks.
smokePerushikaria

Persicaria is a rock band from Saitama Prefecture.
While they’re introduced as an alternative rock band, their music strongly reflects pop and classic rock elements, featuring approachable, unfussy melodies.
A track that really showcases their appeal is Kemuri (“Smoke”).
It’s a song marked by an extremely catchy progression, and as you’ll hear, their style emphasizes letting the lyrics shine.
Many of Persicaria’s songs follow this vein, so be sure to check them out.
If it’s going to wither anywaysekando bakka

Second Backer is a band active primarily on social media.
While rooted in alternative rock, their hallmark is catchy lyrics and hooks.
Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is Dōse Kareru Nara (“If We’re Going to Wither Anyway”).
It’s a track crafted in a breezy late-2000s alternative rock style, and despite being a three-piece, you can really feel how full and satisfying the performance is.
Beyond their sound, the lyrics are excellent too, so be sure to check them out.
