Telecastic fake showRin to shite Shigure

Rin Toshite Shigure “Telecastic Fake Show”
Telecastic fake showRin to shite Shigure

A towering monument of post-hardcore where chaos and beauty collide! If you can pull this off at karaoke, you’ll become a performer who commands sonic-speed madness.

It’s blisteringly fast, with rapid-fire lyrics, odd time signatures, sharp switches between male and female twin vocals, and huge interval jumps.

It’s probably physically impossible to sing alone, so you’ll likely need a partner.

That said, there aren’t many people—of any gender—who can produce these kinds of voices… Of course, two women singing it is totally fine too! I have a great time singing it with my female vocal students in lessons.

In any case, it’s a stamina battle.

Crank your head voice and belt it out.

Your core strength matters, too.

YOASOBI’s new song “Monotone.” When you think of YOASOBI, you probably picture tracks with that Vocaloid-like, crystalline clarity, right? This song has that quality too, but it also has a feature you won’t find in their other works.

That feature is… the low end.

Among YOASOBI’s songs, this one has an especially wide vocal range: the highs are moderate, but the low parts are set astonishingly low.

If a woman can sing this piece, she likely has a remarkably wide range.

Invisible SensationUNISON SQUARE GARDEN

Invisible SensationUNISON SQUARE GARDEN

A quintessentially challenging song by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, characterized by a wide vocal range and a sense of speed.

The overall range spans F3 to C5, fitting the typical UNISON range.

Since it’s an anime opening, it starts right from the chorus and maintains a high level of intensity throughout.

When singing it, rhythm and breath management are the most important points.

Also, because there are fast passages and sections with lots of words even in the chorus, the trick is to avoid enunciating too sharply.

If you struggle with high notes, focus on diaphragmatic breathing and core engagement; you should gradually be able to hit higher notes.

It requires repeated practice, so don’t get discouraged and keep at it!

ValueAdo

Ado’s hit song “Value.” Compared to her other tracks, this one has a slightly softer feel.

It might not seem that difficult, but it’s actually more challenging than “Show.” The main reason is the sheer amount of falsetto.

You’ll need a wide range of falsetto techniques: falsetto sung in the low range, falsetto in the high range, and even falsetto lines that glide upward in pitch.

It’s an extremely demanding song—give it a try if you’re up for the challenge.

Always With MeKimura Yumi

This is also the theme song of one of Studio Ghibli’s most popular works, Spirited Away.

Like Princess Mononoke, it features sustained high notes, making it feel difficult to sing.

That delicate vocal quality, together with the lyrics and melody, seems to create a gentle yet wistful atmosphere.

YGXY

YGXY

XY is a group produced by X JAPAN’s YOSHIKI that unites a band and an idol act into one.

Their sound—adding band elements to K-pop-like visuals and performances—feels very fresh and has gained strong support from young audiences.

Their song “YG” is one of XY’s signature tracks.

Compared to their previous works, this release has a more rock-oriented feel, so a harder vocal style is required.

In addition, because it includes K-pop-like sections, it’s a highly challenging song that also demands rap skills and falsetto technique.

Shineyuzu

It was released in 2014 as Yuzu’s 41st single.

The song was used in a commercial for Nippon Life, and it reached No.

8 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.

Yuzu’s songs all have very high keys, making them quite challenging to sing.

This song also has a very high key in the chorus, so be mindful of where you resonate in your body as you sing.
