Challenge difficult songs at karaoke! Tracks that will earn you praise if you can sing them well (91–100)

Episode XAdo

Ado, a vocalist widely supported by many generations—especially young people—continues to create buzz with every release.

Her track “Episode X” drew particular attention in the singer community for its high level of difficulty.

The song not only features falsetto but also showcases Ado’s signature shouts throughout.

It’s not just about singing powerfully; certain parts require delicate delivery, making it a piece that demands a wide range of vocal techniques.

poofKing Gnu

King Gnu is a band that has gained popularity for its highly original musicality.

While they have many stylish tracks, they’re also known for having a lot of difficult songs.

Among them, the one I especially recommend is Doron.

Known as the theme song for the film Stolen Identity 2 (literally: I Just Dropped My Smartphone: Captive Murderer), this track has a gritty atmosphere and a fairly wide vocal range spanning from mid1 A# to hi A#.

On top of that, the melodic leaps are quite intense, but the most challenging parts are the chorus and the C section.

When the chorus and C section hit, the tempo jumps up at once, leaving few breathing points; combined with the drastic pitch movements, it becomes extremely difficult to stay on pitch.

The RADWIMPS song “Meidai,” known as the theme for the popular news program news zero.

In recent years their songs tend to feature dramatic pitch jumps, and this track is no exception, with phrases that demand rapid rises and falls in pitch one after another.

Its vocal range is quite wide, spanning from mid1 C to hi A#.

Although both the lower and upper extensions aren’t extreme, you will still need to break through the range barriers on your own.

The pitch movement in the chorus—where the energy peaks—is relatively gentle, so the chorus itself shouldn’t be a problem; however, there are very few break points, so be sure to study the vocal line in advance.

Together forever!Kitanitatsuya

Always together! / Tatsuya Kitani – ALWAYS BE WITH YOU XD / Tatsuya Kitani
Together forever!Kitanitatsuya

Singer-songwriter Tatsuya Kitani, who enjoys overwhelming support from young listeners.

While he has many catchy songs, he also has some technically demanding ones.

Among them, the one I especially recommend is Zuutto Issho! This piece requires a wide vocal range from mid1 A# to high A, with quite dramatic pitch movement up and down.

That alone makes it difficult, but it also has few breathing points and many rapid-fire phrases, so in addition to pitch control, strong lung capacity is needed.

It’s a song that demands comprehensive vocal ability, so definitely give it a try.

You’re the Only…Ono Masatoshi

You’re the Only…Ono Masatoshi

Masatoshi Ono is known in Japan as one of the top masters of high-tone vocals.

In addition to his falsetto, he is highly regarded for his mixed voice, and he’s famous for delivering solid sound pressure even at high pitches.

Speaking of Ono’s most challenging songs, “You’re the Only…” is probably at the top of the list.

This piece features an exceptionally wide range from mid1 G# to hi B, and it does not use falsetto.

In other words, because every high-tone phrase has to be sung in chest voice, it’s difficult to pull off unless you possess an unusually specialized vocal range to begin with.

Moreover, as a rock ballad, it also demands vocal power, making it a song of very high difficulty in every respect.

INDRAHirasawa Susumu

Susumu Hirasawa – INDRA [Live Broadcast 2003]
INDRAHirasawa Susumu

A one-of-a-kind artist with a highly original worldview, Susumu Hirasawa, and one of his songs.

The beginning of this track is so low that even men might find it hard to sing.

In contrast, once the chorus hits it switches to falsetto, and just keeping up with that shift is a challenge.

I LOVE…Ofisharu Higedan Dism

Official HIGE DANDism – I LOVE… [Official Video]
I LOVE...Ofisharu Higedan Dism

A single released by Official HIGE DANDism in February 2020.

It was written as the theme song for the TBS Tuesday drama ‘Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo’ (Love Lasts Forever).

Vocalist Satoshi Fujihara is already well known for his singing ability, and in this song he once again showcases exceptional vocals with a masterful blend of high tones that balance both power and softness.

To reproduce this ever-changing vocal style, you’ll need to master chest voice, mixed voice, and falsetto, along with the technique to transition smoothly between them.

It’s a song I highly recommend to anyone confident in their singing.
