My sweet darlin’Yaita Hitomi

It was released in 2000 as Hitomi Yaida’s second single.

The song was used in a commercial for the NICON digital camera COOLPIX 880, became her first top-10 hit, and served as the track that brought Yaida to public attention.

It features a mix of English and Japanese lyrics, and its falsetto-based vocal style makes it a very challenging song to sing.

This is Motohiro Hata’s fifth digital single, released in July 2022.

It was used as an insert song for TV Asahi’s Thursday drama “Roppongi Class.” While the song is a ballad that conveys a gently melancholic mood throughout, what becomes crucial when singing it at karaoke ultimately comes down to vocal expressiveness.

It’s important to avoid rough or careless delivery even in the high notes, and I feel it’s also essential to fully understand the lyrics’ content before singing.

Eine KleineYonezu Kenshi

This piece has a mysterious rhythm, as if the lyrics are flowing through it.

Practice so you can express in your singing how the song builds from the pre-chorus into the chorus.

Rather than singing with full force, easing up a little might better bring out the song’s charm.

I miss you so much, I want to see you.Nishino Kana

Kana Nishino 'I Miss You, I Miss You (short ver.)'
I miss you so much, I want to see you.Nishino Kana

It was released in 2010 as Kana Nishino’s 10th single.

On the Oricon charts, it reached a personal best of No.

2, and the ringtone and full ringtone versions surpassed one million downloads within three months of release.

Although it’s set in a very high key and is quite difficult to sing, it’s a heartbreak song that enjoys overwhelming support from young people.

Brand New Wave Upper GroundJUDY AND MARY

It was released in 2000 as JUDY AND MARY’s 18th single.

The song was used in Otsuka Pharmaceutical’s Pocari Sweat commercial and reached No.

4 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.

It starts at quite a high pitch, and the chorus is even higher.

It seems very difficult to sing in this key while keeping up with the rhythm.

And I Love You SoAK-69

First, this track is long overall, and the A-verse section is especially hard to express because the vocal melody doesn’t change much.

The lyrics also have a lot of words, so if you fall behind, you might not be able to maintain the original flow.

a gap in the skyAdo

Ado, a singer who enjoys overwhelming support from young people.

She’s practically the epitome of a high-vocal-skill artist, drawing attention every time with highly challenging songs.

Among her works, the one I particularly recommend is Nuke Sora.

The tricky point in this piece is, above all, the falsetto.

There are sections where you switch repeatedly between chest voice and falsetto, which demands a high level of pitch control.

Rather than raw power, this song calls for delicacy, so it’s recommended for those who want to train that aspect.
