Does it snow where you live?
I imagine some of you live in areas where heavy snowfall makes shoveling a challenge, while others have only seen snow on TV or in photos.
Still, no matter who you are, when you hear “snowman,” you probably picture a cute, round, chubby little snowman.
In this article, I’d like to share ideas for making these adorable snowmen.
We’ve included a wide range—from quick and easy projects to ideas you can take your time with—so please give them a try!
Note: Since the items made by children are treated as works, we refer to them as “creations” in the text.

Snowman snow globe made from a plastic bottle

Here’s how to make a snow globe with a snowman using a plastic bottle.
You’ll need: a paper cup, a plastic bottle, colored construction paper, round stickers, pom-pom balls, copier paper, tape, colored pens, a hole punch, scissors, and glue.
First, cut a snowman out of the construction paper and glue it onto the paper cup.
Decorate it with white round stickers to look like falling snow.
Next, put the pom-pom balls and the round pieces made with the hole punch into the plastic bottle, then fill it with water.
Finally, place the plastic bottle inside the paper cup to set it, and you’re done!
An easy snowman made by stuffing cotton into a plastic bottle

Here’s an easy snowman craft idea made by stuffing cotton into a plastic bottle.
What you’ll need: a plastic bottle, cotton, round stickers, a permanent marker, scissors, felt, and craft glue.
First, put the cotton inside the plastic bottle and screw the cap on.
Next, draw the snowman’s face with the marker and use the round stickers for buttons.
Finally, wrap a thin strip of felt around the bottle like a scarf, and you’re done! It’s great because you can make it from recycled materials.
Give it a try!
Snowman made with tissue paper

Crumple up your favorite color of tissue paper! Here’s a snowman craft idea using tissue paper.
You’ll need a paper plate, tissue paper, glue, scissors, crayons, and construction paper.
First, fold the paper plate in half and cut out the inside.
Next, tear the tissue paper, roll it into balls, and glue them onto the plate.
Lastly, draw a face on a circle cut from construction paper and stick it onto the plate to finish! It’s perfect for infants’ crafts, and you can adapt it for preschoolers too.
Try making it together while brainstorming ideas with the kids.
Rolling snowman

Make it with a toilet paper roll! Here’s an idea for a rolling snowman.
You’ll need toilet paper rolls, origami paper, round stickers, scissors, glue, and double-sided tape.
First, cut a toilet paper roll in half and cover it with white origami paper.
Next, attach the toilet paper rolls together with double-sided tape.
Finally, stick round stickers on as buttons and draw the face with a pen—you’re done! It’s even cuter if you add a hat made from origami paper.
Snowman made with a towel

You can still use it as a towel after displaying it! Here’s an idea for making a snowman out of a towel.
What you’ll need: a towel measuring 33 cm by 35 cm, hair ties, ribbon, rubber bands, scissors, socks, rhinestone stickers, and a pen.
First, fold the towel, then roll it up tightly from one end.
Next, secure the center of the towel with a hair tie and tie a ribbon around it.
Finally, add a hat made from a cut sock, rhinestone stickers for the eyes, and flower-motif stickers for the buttons—and you’re done!
Make it with straw stamps! Snowman craft

Let’s make a snowman wall art with straw stamps.
First, an adult draws large and small circles on construction paper.
Using a plate as a guide is fun, too.
Then, draw a snowman’s hat on colored construction paper or origami paper.
Have the child cut it out.
Glue the cut-out pieces onto a darker-colored construction paper.
Once they’re glued, draw the snowman’s face with crayons.
For the straw stamp, cut slits into the end of a straw and spread them out so it forms a flower shape.
Dip it in white paint and dab it on—this creates lovely snowflake-like prints.

Spinning Snowman Craft

Just watching the twirling little snowman is delightful and gives you a sense of the season.
Start by cutting a round piece of paper into a spiral.
Cutting curves can be tricky, so try dividing tasks between parent and child to make it fun.
Finally, once you attach the face and hands, your snowman craft is complete.
You might also like to add beads or sparkly tape to the spiral-cut sections.
It will be a lovely time for parents and children, so give it a try!
