Kobukuro’s classic and popular songs
Let us introduce songs by the popular male folk duo, Kobukuro.
Renowned for their powerful vocals, the two create an exquisite harmony with their voices, delivering performances so impactful they overwhelm listeners.
Although they met and formed their duo in Osaka, an event they held until 2010 called Fan Festa took place in Wakayama, and—curiously—the headquarters of their agency, Minosuke Office Kobukuro, is also located in Wakayama.
This is because, during their indie days, they were supported by a patron who ran a game shop in Wakayama called Minosuke; that person is now the president of their current agency.
Now, please take your time and savor the supreme harmony of the two members of Kobukuro.

Kobukuro’s classic and popular songs (81–90)
Be by my side every morning. -Sweet drip mix-Kobukuro

Sung from a husband’s perspective and expressing gratitude to his wife, “Every Morning, Right Beside Me” is a song released by Tokobukuro, a unit formed when George Tokoro and Kobukuro teamed up after appearing together in a commercial.
A later version without George Tokoro, titled “Every Morning, Right Beside Me – Sweet drip mix -,” was also released.
The arrangements differ significantly, so it’s worth comparing them.
The highlight is how the song captures everyday moments and draws out a sense of drama from them.
Prayer of LightKobukuro

It’s Kobukuro’s 32nd single, released in October 2020.
It was also chosen as the theme song for the Fuji TV drama “DIVER: Special Infiltration Unit.” It’s a very dramatic rock ballad.
Adding color to that dramatic feel are the duo’s excellent vocals and choral work.
The harmony pattern is very simple—an upper harmony over the main melody in the chorus—but that simplicity works extremely effectively to enhance the song’s drama.
As a chorus arrangement, the harmonies aren’t particularly difficult, so I encourage all of you reading this to give it a try.
For the high part, be careful not to let your voice flip.
Together foreverKobukuro

Kobukuro is one of Japan’s leading musical duos.
“Eien ni Tomo ni” (Together Forever) was written by member Kentaro Kobuchi for a friend’s wedding.
After its release, it became a major hit and has been beloved as a classic wedding song.
As a quintessential love ballad that sings of eternal love, it’s sure to enchant listeners of all ages.
You might think it’s hard to sing because it’s a duet, but the tempo is slow, so it should be singable even solo.
Raindrops and FireworksKobukuro

This is a ballad that portrays a poignant love, symbolizing the end of summer.
Set at a fireworks festival held in the rain, it delicately expresses the feelings of a protagonist waiting for a lover who is running late.
Included on Kobukuro’s album “QUARTER CENTURY,” the song was inspired by the 2022 Jingu Gaien Fireworks Festival.
Released digitally in July 2024, it has received strong support from fans.
The vivid imagery—such as rain-soaked cityscapes and the sight of a lover running from afar—is especially striking.
It’s a recommended track for those who want to linger in the bittersweet afterglow of love while reflecting on their own summer memories.
Gazing at the windKobukuro

It’s a song by the popular male music duo, Kobukuro.
It was released in 2018 as their 30th single.
Written specifically as the theme song for the drama “Harassment Game,” it carries lyrics that evoke hope for tomorrow.
It really hits home, and when you’re feeling down or struggling with something, listening to it might help you look forward again.
It’s a gentle, moving ballad that can bring you to tears.
Obuchi-kun’s Dog SongKobukuro

A hidden gem from Kobukuro, who always deliver perfectly synchronized harmonies.
The lyrics are from a dog’s perspective and a bit comical, and the reggae-style, upbeat arrangement is incredibly appealing.
It’s included on their 2002 album “grapefruits.”

silhouetteKobukuro

A sparkling, refreshing sound that’s quintessentially Kobukuro.
While their long-running hit classic “Eien ni Tomo ni” is told from the groom’s perspective, “Silhouette” takes the bride’s point of view, making it a wedding song where the feelings of the two overlap.
Originally written for a friend of Kobukuro, the song was later included on their 2011 single “Ano Taiyo ga, Kono Sekai o Terashi Tsuzukeru Youni.” It’s a wish brimming with happiness—an answer-style love song that makes you want to keep the pure feelings expressed in it, no matter how much time passes.
