Kobukuro’s classic and popular songs

Let us introduce songs by the popular male folk duo, Kobukuro.

Renowned for their powerful vocals, the two create an exquisite harmony with their voices, delivering performances so impactful they overwhelm listeners.

Although they met and formed their duo in Osaka, an event they held until 2010 called Fan Festa took place in Wakayama, and—curiously—the headquarters of their agency, Minosuke Office Kobukuro, is also located in Wakayama.

This is because, during their indie days, they were supported by a patron who ran a game shop in Wakayama called Minosuke; that person is now the president of their current agency.

Now, please take your time and savor the supreme harmony of the two members of Kobukuro.

Kobukuro’s Classic and Popular Songs (21–30)

Treasure IslandKobukuro

Treasure Island – Kobukuro (Cover)
Treasure IslandKobukuro

It’s an energizing song that makes you want to run off somewhere right away.

While you’re listening, it makes you think, “What is it that truly matters to me?” By the time it ends, you’ll surely find yourself wanting to go see someone important to you—it’s that kind of song.

moonlightKobukuro

There was a time when everything looked suspicious and I doubted everything.

That day, I even looked at someone dear to me with suspicion and ended up hurting them.

Every time I listen to this song, it dredges up the worst version of myself from that day.

I swore in my heart that I would never become that person again—while listening to this song.

The Way Back to the FutureKobukuro

The Way Back to the FutureKobukuro

It depicts the casual everyday moments and the regret anyone can feel over past mistakes, as well as the thoughts we have at life’s crossroads—wondering, “Was that choice back then really the right one?” The title “The Way Back to the Future” expresses the idea of correcting course toward the future one has envisioned, framing that adjustment as a ‘way back.’

Tokyo’s WinterKobukuro

It’s a song that captures the loneliness of a long-distance relationship.

I came to Tokyo to chase my dreams, and while being tossed about by the rough waves of the big city, I sometimes think of my girlfriend far away.

Even as I waver and question the path I chose, I try not to break, waiting for spring—the season when I can see her again.

That’s the story.

paper airplaneKobukuro

An interesting project has been realized in which the jacket is turned into a paper airplane.

There’s no doubt you’ll be soothed by the very refreshing and beautiful melody.

It once served as the theme song for H.I.S., carrying the image of the “sky.”

From the intro, it’s a refreshingly intense track for Kobukuro.

Their singles often come with TV drama tie-ins, but this song steps away from that.

It makes me think that’s exactly why it has this kind of sound.

Ruts (Wadachi)Kobukuro

It’s Kobukuro’s second major-label single, a song they had been performing since their street days.

It’s crafted into a highly upbeat track that conveys a sense of youthful, full-throttle energy.

Featured as the first track on their best-of album, it’s a song closely associated with “beginnings.”
