A must-see for low-voiced women! Popular songs that are easy to sing at karaoke

These days, many songs for both women and men are in higher keys, so there are probably many women with lower voices who feel, “I can’t find songs I can sing because my voice is low,” or “I’m looking for lower-key songs for karaoke.” Forcing yourself to sing songs that don’t suit your natural voice can hurt your throat, and it can be stressful when you can’t sing the way you want.

But don’t worry! There are plenty of songs that sound captivating even with a low voice.

In this article, we’ll introduce lots of songs that women with lower ranges can sing comfortably and confidently.

Women Artists (121–130)

Runiri

iri – Run (Official Audio)
Runiri

iri is a female singer-songwriter whose stylish musicality has earned high praise even from Japan’s R&B aficionados.

Her chic vocals, enriched with deep low tones, are incredibly captivating.

Among her songs, the one I especially recommend is Run.

It’s a track brimming with a sense of drive, yet it stays within a relatively narrow range centered on the mid-to-low and low registers, making it very easy to sing for women with lower voices.

If you’re a low-voiced singer who wants to try R&B, definitely give it a listen.

A song by Ayaka released in November 2018.

Ayaka is a female singer whose husky tone is part of her appeal, so this is one of the best choices for women with naturally lower voices.

However, as with many of Ayaka’s songs—and this one in particular—if you want to sing it properly, you need to have a solid grasp of falsetto, mixed voice, and vocal technique.

In that sense, it may not be the easiest song for just anyone to sing.

That said, it’s also a great example of how, by mastering these techniques, even someone with a naturally husky voice can become a very compelling singer.

So even if you’re a woman with a lower voice who feels a bit insecure about singing right now, I strongly hope you’ll approach this song with a desire to improve.

You’ve got this—good luck!

Lila LilhaKimura Kaera

Kaela Kimura “Rirura Riruha” [short ver.]
Lila LilhaKimura Kaera

Kaela Kimura’s third major-label single, released in March 2005.

It’s a fairly robust rock song, and while the melodic range isn’t especially wide—so there aren’t any extremely high notes—you still need to sing with a clear, resonant tone.

Because of that, even if the range itself is manageable, it might be a bit challenging for those who aren’t confident singers.

That said, with solid basic vocal technique, it’s definitely doable.

If you’re interested, this could be a great chance to take some vocal lessons and learn to sing this track coolly and confidently!

Chiaki Sato, known as the vocalist of Kinoko Teikoku, is also active as a singer-songwriter and has released numerous acclaimed songs.

Among her works, a track I especially recommend for lower-voiced women is Matatabi.

While she isn’t necessarily a low-voiced artist, this song sits overall in the mid to upper-mid range.

For singers with lower voices, that range can actually be easier to handle.

You can certainly sing it gently like the original, but why not lean into the strengths of a lower female voice and deliver those mid to upper-mid notes with power?

Women Artists (131–140)

spring stormHitsuji Bungaku

“Haru no Arashi” by Hitsujibungaku, released digitally on June 18, 2025.

Listening to the track, it has a calm and gentle atmosphere.

The overall vocal range is E3–E5, and since there are no belted high notes and the chest and head voices are clearly separated, it’s a song that women can sing comfortably.

The tempo is relaxed, but the phrasing of the melody is distinctive.

It seems best to sing each phrase carefully, leaving a lingering resonance to bring out the mood.

It’s also a song that makes breathing easy, so try singing with a conscious cycle of inhaling and exhaling at each phrase.

Rather than singing with too much force, gently sway along to the music; this will help you stay relaxed.

Keep your facial muscles lifted and let the sound resonate in your head as you sing!

soulELAIZA

ELAIZA - “Soul” (official video)

Elaiza Ikeda has made a big impact as an artist as well, performing as ELAIZA in her music career.

Among her works, the one I especially recommend for women with lower vocal ranges is Tamashii.

Crafted with a distinctly downbeat mood, this song features no high-register parts—not in the A or B sections, the chorus, or even the final chorus.

If you sing it in a whispery tone, it will bring out the full charm of a low female voice.

Be sure to check it out.

Tuki’s masterpiece “Shelf Life of Love.” This work was released as an answer song to her massive hit tune “Banquet Song.” In contrast to “Banquet Song,” it’s crafted with a cool melody and is set in a somewhat lower register throughout.

The range isn’t exactly narrow, but the low parts are genuinely low, so it should be easier for low-voiced female singers to perform.

If you want to sound even more polished, try focusing on a “whisper voice” technique—mixing in breath while singing the A and B sections.

It instantly enhances the atmosphere.
