I don’t listen to love songs.Yūgata to Neko

The band Yuugata to Neko, known for lyrics that capture everyday life, has grown popular.
They have a solid reputation for having many so-called “emo” tracks and have released numerous classics to date.
Among them, the song I especially recommend is Don’t Listen to Love Songs.
It’s memorable for a chorus that steadily ramps up in intensity, yet the vocal range is narrow and the chorus starts in a low register, so even men who can’t hit high notes can sing it without any problem.
Be sure to add it to your repertoire.
lifeline extensionYūgata to Neko

A four-piece pop band attracting attention on the Japanese rock scene with their gentle sound: Yuugata to Neko.
They’re known for a nostalgic style that feels like snapshots of everyday life.
Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is “Enmeisen.” Aside from the falsetto in the chorus, the difficulty is very low, with no complex rises and falls in pitch.
Since it doesn’t require advanced vocal techniques like runs or hiccups, you can aim for a high score as long as you control your pitch.
Be sure to add it to your repertoire.
Before SunriseTeikoku Kissa

Teikoku Kissa is a band based in Osaka.
It’s a unique group in which three of the four members are melody makers, and they’ve gained popularity for a sound that balances a free-from-the-mold approach with an orthodox style.
Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is Before Sunrise.
It features a prominent bass line without feeling heavy, and overall it’s tied together by a light, even-keeled vocal line with little dramatic fluctuation.
LOVE&PUNKaishite okure

Known for a musical style influenced by bands like GOING STEADY, GINGNANG BOYZ, and andymori, Aishite Okure is recognized as the successor band to Goodbye Fujiyama.
These days, they’re known for a style reminiscent of Shinsei Kamattechan.
Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is LOVE&PUNK.
It’s basically an orthodox rock track, but a distinctly punk section appears partway through.
Because these two sections are clearly separated, it’s easy to switch to the next part with your voice already well set, which makes it particularly comfortable to sing.
Offshore / Toward the open seaorisaka yuta

Singer-songwriter Yuta Orisaka, whose otherworldly folk music has earned high praise from hardcore music aficionados.
Among his songs, “Oki no Hō e” is one I especially recommend.
While the piece spans a wide vocal range and features some abrupt pitch shifts, it doesn’t demand rapid-fire rises and falls in the melody.
So if you have a reasonably broad range, you’ll likely find it fairly manageable to sing.
Men with a steady mid-to-high register should definitely consider adding it to their repertoire.
waypointMori Hiroto

Singer-songwriter Hiroto Mori, who has gained popularity for his advanced guitar technique.
His composition skills, rooted in his instrumental prowess, are undeniable, earning him acclaim for songs that are both catchy and impactful.
Among Mori’s tracks, the one I especially recommend is “Tsūkasten” (Milestone).
It’s a refreshing, fast-paced song, yet surprisingly features a narrow vocal range and little complex pitch movement, making it unquestionably easy to sing.
Be sure to add it to your repertoire.
Song of Greensoshina

Soshina, the straight man of the comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo.
In addition to his work as a TV personality, he’s also active as a YouTuber and an artist.
As an artist, he primarily focuses on punk rock, and his loud musical style has earned him immense popularity among certain audiences.
Among Soshina’s songs, a particularly recommended track is Midori no Uta.
It’s written in a minor key, and while the vocals are quite raspy, the overall range is fairly narrow, making it a very easy song for men who can do shout-style vocals.
