MUCC’s classic and popular songs (21–30)
Winner in a downpourMUCC

This is a song included on their 13th single released in 2006.
It sounds like an uplifting track that says we’re winners even when we go through hardships like a torrential downpour.
With its off-beat accents in the chorus and straightforward melody, it’s an easy song to get excited about.
An empty houseMUCC

From the songs of a visual kei rock band active since the late ’90s.
Many of their tracks are dark, with gloomy melodies and lyrics throughout.
Is it just me, or do visual kei rock bands tend to write rather morbid music more often than not?
I hate itMUCC

MUCC.
At the time of their formation in 1997, they were affiliated with “Mishitsu Neurose” and belonged to the so-called “mishitsu-kei” (closed-room) scene.
In 2015, they performed at LUNA SEA’s curated festival, LUNATIC FEST.
Since 2005, they have also appeared at metal festivals around the world.
World’s EndMUCC

This is the 29th single, released in 2013.
It was used as the opening theme for the TV anime “Meganebu!”.
“Meganebu!” is a very unique anime centered around glasses, but its feelings toward glasses are remarkably grand, which actually (surprisingly?) matches this song, “World’s End.”
Falling DownMUCC

Their 23rd single, released in 2010.
Unusually for MUCC, it has the feel of an offbeat dance number.
In live footage, the audience unites during the chorus to do the so-called “wiper.” It’s a track that makes you want to move your body like that.
prostituteMUCC

This is their first single, released in 2000.
It’s a track that already shines from their debut.
In the middle, the song dramatically shifts its tone and reveals a different side.
It was also re-recorded for the first album “Tsuuzetsu” and the 14th single “Horizont.”
Sky and ThreadMUCC

It’s the 19th single, released in 2009.
The word “rain” appears repeatedly, and the song is filled with dark, negative emotions.
The brisk tempo and recurring guitar phrases might be conveying a message about a boring daily life where every day is the same.
