Nippon Ham commercials: a collection of mouthwatering, sizzle-filled ads (1–10)

Nippon Ham “Sustainability: Reducing Plastics” EditionNEW!

Sustainability: Plastic Reduction Edition, 60 Seconds

After presenting the history of how food packaging has traditionally pursued standing out more on store shelves and looking more appetizing, Nippon Ham declares that it will no longer pursue those goals going forward.

Even if the packages become less eye-catching than before, they say they will aim for simple packaging and work to reduce the amount of plastic used.

It’s hard not to feel reassured by their words that they aim to reduce environmental impact in order to protect the joy of eating.

Nippon Ham: Oden Ingredients for Meat Lovers — “Meat-and-Mochi Gyoza” Version / “Quail Egg Meatball” Version

In this commercial introducing oden ingredients made with meat, the story is presented in the style of an audition.

The two items featured this time are meat-mochi gyoza and quail meatballs.

It’s striking how they withstand tough questions and comments from the three judges—a mother, son, and daughter—and ultimately win their approval.

Although the portrayal is very passionate, the fact that it’s actually an audition for oden ingredients adds a touch of humor.

Nippon Ham Swift Loaf

TV commercials from March 1976 (Showa 51) – Japanese TV commercials

This is a commercial where Mr.

Chū Arai—who was also a member of The Drifters—promotes Nippon Ham’s dedication to deliciousness embodied in their Swift Loaf.

The simple footage of the Swift Loaf being sliced and shown to the viewer conveys a straightforward message: we want you to try it first.

Nippon Ham: “CEO Shinjo — Protein, made more free.” (version)Tsuyoshi Shinjo

CEO Shinjo: Protein, more freely.

A must-see commercial for baseball fans: Nippon Ham’s “CEO Shinjo: Let Protein Be Freer” edition.

It features Tsuyoshi Shinjo, manager of the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, talking about the joy of eating.

The crisp, sharp ending is a nice touch.

Nippon Ham Schauessen Power-Spicy “Spiciness” Version / Schauessen Oichi-zu Cheese “Chii” Version

This is a commercial introducing two Schaubessen products: Power-Kara (extra spicy) and Oichii-zu (cheesy).

The two ads have different tones, but both use bold direction with a good sense of humor, making them really fun to watch.

Of course, each product itself looks delicious, and combined with the mouthwatering, sizzle-filled visuals, there’s no doubt they’ll make you want to try them.
