SHANK Popular Songs Ranking [2026]

A three-piece rock band formed in Nagasaki in 2004.

The origin of the band’s name comes from when they initially played ska-punk and called themselves “SKANK” (SKA + PUNK), but drummer Yuki Ikemoto misread it as “SHANK,” and the name stuck.

I was hooked on this song within the first three seconds.

It grabs you right from the start.

Among SHANK’s tracks, this is one of my personal favorites.

Dropping it down in the C section, then going half-time, and finally hitting a two-beat for the big chorus—the flow is insanely cool.

This song, included as the fourth track on the album “Tiny Square Room.” From the guitar’s bridge-muted parts and the vocal section, it surges into an intense B-melody and then the chorus.

The tempo isn’t particularly fast, but the song overflows with power.

It gives an easy-listening, mid-tempo impression.

Being punk doesn’t mean it’s all about intense energy.

Since they’re a band, their live performances leave a stronger impression than the recordings.
